https://www.motor1.com/news/399000/ford-bronco-march-reveal-date/

A couple of journalists have reported at the NADA meeting Ford stated there will be 2 and 4 Door versions for BOTH SUVs and confirmed the name “Bronco Sport” for the baby Bronco.

Also both Broncos will be available with a ton of accessories at launch! (Hence why the slower roll out vs the Escape and Explorer)

Uuummmmmm........ not sure if this is true or not.
I've read where this was just a "miss interpretation" ......... time will tell.

I'm counting on a 2 door.
Four doors are more popular, but I like
the looks of a 2dr and rarely have back-seat
passengers anyway...

MotorWeek showed a spy video of what's now known as the Bronco Sport, back in January, and it
looked nothing like the camo shots here. There was no rear door handle and the rear glass looked
smaller. At the time, I was sure it was a 2 door. I'm hoping Ford isn't just teasing us....

I don't use the rear doors or seats much but I don't think there is much to gain by having a shorter wheel base version.
Maybe they want to do a world version and compete with the Suzuki Jimmy or something.
