Doing a tire change on a riding mower, I reached for the jack in my BB. Easy enough to find the scissors jack under the mini spare but where in the world is the jack handle? I searched all over the vehicle before turning to the manual. It became fairly obvious that Ford didn’t really expect anyone to actually change their own tire as there was less than a page devoted to the subject and most of that had to do with safely driving on the mini.
I did find the handle and the jack is a pretty slick little device. I won’t spoil your fun of finding it on your own but If you think you might need it I suggest you do a dry run before you do!

I had to know so I looked at the Owner's Manual and I must admit, that is a new one on me. But actually the most logical location.

Actually bought a handle/ wrench because I did not see it when looking for it.

Heads up, when putting the jack back, be sure to secure the spare tire on in a spot where the rubber won’t creak against the frame of the vehicle. I drove around convinced there was something wrong with my rear suspension because it had such a loud creaking noise that only happened when driving over speed bumps or taking slow turns. Turned out the tire was tightened down in just a weird enough position to cause rubbing.

Glad you asked the question. I've had by BSBB for a year and never bothered to look at where the jack is located and how it works. After reading your post, I watched a YouTube that gave explicit directions. Hope I never need it but at least I'm prepared if ever I do.

I have been planning to do a dry run “tire change” on my new OBX and this post will get me to make it happen. I want to flip the spare for the increased storage space as well. I made each of my boys remove and reinstall a tire when learning to drive so I should practice what I preached.

Until I had a clam shell slice into my BS tire I hadn’t changed a tire since 2012. I must be some kind of idiot savant because the location of the handle made complete sense to me. :captain:

I threw a breaker bar and 19mm deep socket in the back of our OBX. I'd brake that dinky little thing they call a wrench in about 3 seconds. Not that I plan to use the jack or the spare, but just in case.

The real fun is trying to put it back together just like it was and for it to not get loose and rattle. Drove me nuts for a while.

Does your BSBL have a gray roof? Your red looks like the 2021 Rapid Red to me, I have the same one if so. Anyway I opted for the carbonized gray top just to stand out a little more, and I love it.
