Thanks, yes you’re right of course. I didn’t get it up there too long before it occurred to me I really didn’t need to go quite that quickly ?. 70 would be the speed limit, 75 is probably about the minimum to not get ran over by semis passing you. Which yes, does seem to be about the limit of good economy here.ease off lead foot
break in period ?
Thanks! She gets the KO2 255/55/18s tomorrow.Awesome congrats! It looks great!
It’s always intersting to drive other cars and compare them to the Sport. I think we all have ways in which it can improve…and then it’d be perfect! And being on here this place is a sounding room for those ideas.Just got back from a trip to the coast. Total distance about 2,700kms/1,700mi with average 28.5mpg. It seems to drop about 1mpg with mountain passes. But still, that’s not bad at all. Had a couple ferry crossings which was kinda neat. Great maneuverable vehicle to fit in wherever you need to go. One detour up over a hilly one lane road, I’d like to say I was glad I had the BL for that, but the guy ahead of me did the road in a Hyundai so yes I probably didn’t quite need the hardware I have to do that.
I do still struggle with the seats, though my mother tells me to embrace this vehicle as it suits me well. Nonetheless I spent some driving time behind the wheel of her RDX to find out what an improved budget might do for me. Needless to say the seats were better. But I was surprised by how much the infotainment & driver assists lacked. About all I really got to try was lane departure. That creates a flashing orange display not unlike the pre collision in the Bronco Sport. Every time you touch the white line. Otherwise the center display is small & lacks the nicely laid out pictorial that the Sport & other Fords have. Trying to use the map/navigation was pretty unintuitive whereas to find the detour I needed as mentioned above, I simply used the Sport’s touchscreen. Overall I was a little surprised. She doesn’t use any of the features so couldn’t tell me much, but I’ve gotten so used to using them all the time.

Agreed 100%. Myself & everyone I know thinks this is a great small little vehicle. Nothing cooler or more interesting at this price point. Not everything works for everybody but overall it’s hard to get better value, certainly before the MSRP increases. It’s always intersting to drive other cars and compare them to the Sport. When you get in another car, well I have anyway, realized really how good Ford did with everything in terms of the big picture. Sure there are some things that the car could go better but when compared to other cars in the segment at this price point it becomes more and more clear that FoMoCo did a good job making a car at this price point and doing everything as well as it has been.
Have you looked at the Mazda CX-50? No where near as capable off road but it can do some light trails and it’s much more comfort oriented than the BS Badlands…Agreed 100%. For me the seats have ruined it to the point I’m shopping again, or at least watching what’s coming over the next couple of years to choose something more optimal.
But I think you found my point entirely. Comparing the Sport to a similar compact in a price class higher, finds that many features Ford offers at a lower price point aren’t as well implemented on vehicles from luxury focused brands in a price class above the Sport.
That is actually making my browsing & comparing pretty tough.
I'm 50/50 on keeping mine due to the seats. I haven't had a long drive lately but the next one will be the moment of truth I think. For me the seats have ruined it to the point I’m shopping again, or at least watching what’s coming over the next couple of years to choose something more optimal.
You will be able to get a lot of money back if you decide to get rid of that awesome looking Badlands. For me the seats have ruined it to the point I’m shopping again, or at least watching what’s coming over the next couple of years to choose something more optimal.
That Mazda 2.5 turbo is pretty appealing.Going to second the Mazda CX-50. The sand color looks pretty sharp.
I haven’t yet, but it’s definitely on my watch list, as I realize at my age now comfort is something I should’ve paid more attention to. I didn’t really think about it, but I realize I’ve always had larger vehicles. I honestly don’t/didn’t need the capabilities of the BL, it just seemed like a good idea to choose the top of the Sport food chain. & to me it really looks cool.Have you looked at the Mazda CX-50? That’s half my issue, if I do decide to go that way, there’s nothing quite so awesome as the Bronco, particularly the BL. So should I change sooner than I might’ve thought otherwise I’d be giving up a lot. Ironically enough that I’m considering this may not be the right vehicle for me as it was supposed to be an order just the way I’d choose to end some years of vehicle instability. You will be able to get a lot of money back if you decide to get rid of that awesome looking Badlands.
Yes, I hear ya for sure. for me I keep thinking I just need to get used to them or adjust a bit. Use the seat heaters a bit more. It just takes some more time right. But after this last long drive I’m really considering whether I fit well for the seats. I thought a compact was a good idea for the city, & there’s no cooler one, but my previous vehicles were F150, MDX, Explorer. Maybe I just need to look at a midsize again.I'm 50/50 on keeping mine due to the seats. I haven't had a long drive lately but the next one will be the moment of truth I think.
