I
Beautiful summer day to visit the dealership and bring a new car home!

It’s been an interesting couple hours so far getting the feel for this vehicle. Most notably which all of the pluses & minuses I’ve read about on here I might agree with or not. After all, I’d only test driven an OB & that was a year ago now, so really I’m in the mode of forming my opinions now of the Bronco Sport.

I’ve got a few things to share in many of the threads here too over the next while, but figured why not start my own thread to have a little fun too. I really feel for those November orders still stuck in the waiting room. But I definitely want to thank you all for your help, insights, and just plain fun in getting to this point over the last months!

That’s what I was thinking. I haven’t been out there in a few years but around here and out in Phoenix it’s gone crazy in the past 5 years.
We need to do a meet and trail ride. At least once. Unless I’m already missing them.

I'm 50/50 on keeping mine due to the seats. I haven't had a long drive lately but the next one will be the moment of truth I think.

Going to second the Mazda CX-50. The sand color looks pretty sharp.
My real moment of truth with the seats will be that upcoming drive from SD->Montana

Someone a while back posted putting spacers between floor and seat brackets to tilt seat back some. I think idea was first done with F150s and those spacers are sold online.

It appears to me that you really like this vehicle, and that it fits your lifestyle very well. It would be a shame for you to trade it away because of the seats without trying to make adjustments. Have you spoken to someone at a local upholstery shop? I searched google for "seat recushioning" and got a number of hits. Perhaps the cushioning can be bolstered/replaced in a way that makes the seats fit you better. That seems like a far cheaper option than trading away for a entirely new vehicle.

Let me know how it goes. I’ve got a couple 10hr trips coming up and I keep hoping I get more used to it each time.

I may have to try that. I thought I’d seen posts about that as well, not that I know how to start installing them. But every idea is worth investigating.

Yes, it would be & frankly if I trade it away too soon without trying enough, ultimately I won’t be any happier. I do plan to try your idea, thanks. THey may have some good ideas & suggestions of things they can do. I also need to start with some basic research on seat adjustment in case I’ve got anything wrong and then get myself into chiro & massage to make sure I’m not the cause of my own problems. First things first though, my dealer is trying to replace the bottom to see if that helps any.

Then if all else fails I do need to evaluate my lifestyle & make sure it’s as good of a fit as can be & as good of a fit as I thought it would be when I ordered. Maybe I do need a larger car that I’m used to. Or maybe I just need to accept that I can’t do as long of road trips as I used to, both for the car and for my aging. I do have a couple 10hr trips coming up perhaps unexpectedly, but entering winter now that should be the end of long trips which gives me months to evaluate.

I also need to look inward at myself. If I’m the cause of my own unhappiness for whatever reason (such high expectations no vehicle could meet them or personal unhappiness stemming from other issues) then there’s no vehicle out there that can fix that.

Ok far more detail than you wanted, but I do really appreciate everybody that’s checked this thread & given great advice.

Did they change the seats? Or maybe I am just used to them already. Mine is a 21 but they feel fine. Now mind you, they also feel just like my Mustang seats did. So maybe I am just used to them?

I wouldn’t have expected they did any changes. But who knows in these supply chain constrained times. Still, I can’t imagine them making some unseen changes so I suspect it’s just become an issue for me for some reason which I hadn’t identified during the test drive (in an OB, but still the seat covers aren’t that much different). So you may be used to them for sure, as I keep hoping I will be. Very few have any real issues. I thought they were similar to my explorer seats but I really don’t think so now.

With complaints about the seats common but then many think they are fine we could be dealing with a supplier proving Ford with batches of sub standard seats.

Seats in mine are very nice. But they were pretty stiff not that good during the first several hundred miles then seemed to break in now they very comfortable.

Glad yours are working out for you! THat’s entirely possible that there was a poor batch somewhere along the way. My backs are nice & stiff but the bottom cushion feels really soft/spongy. My dealer did offer to replace it under warranty, so we’ll see if that solves the issue or not. It’s always difficult when you get into issues like this as there’s not necessarily a particular cause for poor fit, feel, ergonomics. It could be right down to the individual as well. Unlike a technical problem which should have a solution.

Yeah its a grey area. My seats are definitely firm with enough softness to be comfortable. I did a 4 hour trip not long ago and seat comfort was very good.

I would have dealer replace seat see if that helps.

I had one day where the seat was uncomfortable for my tailbone, but normally it's fine. I've made a few runs to the coast (2.5 hours) and it has been fine mostly.

The outerbanks leather seat seemed to feel ok or so I thought. But frankly I cant remeber what seats it had. On the Badlands i drove with cloth seats didn't feel good. The seat bottom seems to have to much pressure on the back of my thighs. There is no adjustment to make it feel right. I'm concerned if this seat is a deal breaker. I am going to have to go back and play some more at the dealer. What is this F150 kit I saw somewhere on here?
