Rear Turn Signal and Brake LED Bulbs Installed

I just purchased LED bulbs from F150LEDS.com for my 25 Badlands and installed them today. This included rear turn signal LED bulbs and their CREE LED brake light bulbs. I did need to install their supplied resistors (that came with the brake bulbs) onto the turn signal wiring to prevent the hyper flash on the dash when using the turn signals. The bulbs look and function great now. Attached is a photo of the resistor installed. You need to tap into the two outer tail light wires for each resistor.

No. The area behind the rear light is protected and screws go in very tightly so didn’t think any silicone was needed.

I've had those tail lights out a few times. Protected by what? Did they change something for 2025? I've still seen it get dirty behind that lamp. Water can easily get behind there. I'm not a fan of poking holes in the body. I would just be worried about future corrosion. Your wire taps are okay at least they have the sealant on the inside. The weakest point of the resistors is where the wire goes into the heat sink.

I used resistors on our old 2021 but I crimped them inside the rubber boot.

I’ll keep an eye on them. My Bronco was pretty dirty and salty and the area behind the tail light was nice and clean. Should be just fine. I installed resistors on another vehicle of mine, similar to this install, 11 years ago with no issues as of yet at all.

Had a brake light go out so I replaced every non LED in my rig. Hyper flash on the dash? Catches my eyes when I forget to cancel them when passing. I call that a safety feature not a reason to install a resistor which, IMHO defeats the benefit of having the LEDs in the first place. To each his (or her) own I spoze

I bought Brake light and backup light LEDs from Diode Dynamics. All are CANBUS error free, meaning no flash errors. Diode Dynamics doesn't stock the amber turn signal LEDs for our Bronco Sports, and I bought those on line. All of these were CANBUS error free, Plug and Play - no resistors required. Elsewhere on the forum, I posted my experiments with several of the amber turn signal bulbs I bought via Amazon (Alla Lighhting, Lasfit, Alopee).

I know you're done with your upgrade, but this is for benefit of newbies considering changing their tail light bulbs from halogen incandescent to LED.

Personally Im not a fan of LED tail lights, their brightness is annoying at night when you are stopped and sitting behind the vehicle that has them. Some manufacturers lights are much worse (brighter) than others and really bother the eyes.
I wouldn't be surprised if someone files a lawsuit.

Annoying? Perhaps but having a black rig, I prefer the greater visibility at night and especially during snow storms here in the northeast

Remember that manufacturers aren't in business to make the best products. They are in business to make as much money as they can and scrimp on parts and materials wherever they can.
