This is like pulling teeth! Are you experiencing any other symptoms besides the leaks?
Yes I am and it doesnt matter if I wasnt. They leak bad. Full wet like your video. I can change the post. My rear shocks work great, but I am looking for something better that are close in length and use the same existing mounts. Does anyone know of any other shocks available?

I'm not trying to piss you off; I'm simply asking for data. One of the ways forums like this provide value is helping owners keep track of common issues. Knowing that others are having the same issue with a particular component is valuable information. Describing the driving characteristics that lead you to believe you have blown shocks and/or pictures of the leak severity helps others determine if they are experiencing the same problem as you.

Blown shocks can result in dangerous driving characteristics (in the video). If yours are blown you might consider getting them replaced while you look for upgrades. Since your car only has 20K miles on it you should be able to get defective shocks replaced under warranty.

How do you end up with both rear shocks being blown after only 20,000 miles of normal driving?

I’m genuinely curious. It sounds unusual.

This is my wifes vehicle. Zero offroad. I recently put it on the lift to change my oil and noticed them. One is worse then the other so changing both would be a precaution. I cleaned it up a little so it doesnt seem as bad but ill post a picture of it soon. Normal driving to work, family sports on the weekends, no towing.

Found this forum/post while looking into a problem with my '22 BS base with only 4 weeks of highway driving for a total of 1500 miles, thought I'd chime in. Last week I started hearing some loud clunking from the rear while going over mild bumps, sounded like the shock was going to come through the cabin at times. Found a pool of oil on the right-rear control arm and shock coated with it. Left shock is currently dry but doesn't sound/feel great just bouncing the rear by hand. Just wanted to drop my experience with defective shocks in case anyone else comes looking.

22,700 on my Base, I’ve bounced it sideways s few times farting around on rocky fire roads.
No leaks, they feel like they did the day I got the buggy.
,
Op, odds of both shocks being defective are really slim.
Ever let anyone drive it ?
It sounds to me like it’s been General Lee’d.
The BS in any trim is not suited for air time, err that’s jumping. Yeee haww !

FWIW, I was just out for a drive this weekend and it seemed that the rear end was feeling the bumps a lot more than I remembered. It felt like it was bottoming out at times.

I'm going to have to crawl under and take a look.

Less than 7k miles on it.

"Normal."
Different people have different considerations on what "normal" is. It's possible that the wife thinks "it's for offroad" means you can bomb it over a lousy rural railroad crossing at 60mph.

But the only possibilities are abused or defective. If I well and truly believed I did 20,000 miles of completely sane, normal driving, I'd try the "defective" route and ask Ford what gives.
