I mentioned this a couple times in another thread, but I want to make it it’s own thread now that I know what’s going on. I had three warning lights pop up a few weeks back about a “powertrain malfunction” and “hill start assist warning”.
I heard back today and they are replacing the rear drive unit. On the Badlands that means the whole twin clutch differential setup.
No clue what caused it. Under 500 miles total. I did some off roading awhile back, but nothing crazy.
Anyone else having drivetrain issues?

wow, I'd assumed it was a fairly sorted out piece having been in a high HP application.
I've not heard of any others.

New vehicle it's always a possibility. But didn't they have overheating issues on the twin clutch mechanism? Could just be poor design and they need to be replaced. Risk and reward of a first year vehicle
As I understand it, it's not the rear that's over heating under hard use but the center unit that transfers power to the rear.
Otherwise it would be Badlands specific.
Other brands have the same issue, google it, so it's not even a Bronco only problem.

Gotcha thanks for clarification and that's kinda good to know with a badlands on order.

Yep and the Bandlands is the only one that has cooling on the center unit.

I sincerely wish this is just a general bathtub curve/lemon issue...

Hope you can get the parts soon and get back on the road!
