The XM UI on Sync 4 is horrible.
I'm not liking the fact that it takes multiple taps to get to favorites each time I want to change XM channels. Favorites should be listed to the side of what's currently playing so one can switch freely without having to tap back through the list to favorites. Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems clunky compared to the smoothness of most other features.

Sorry for the rant
No worries, man. There's a good group of folks here who don't mind an occasional rant and are keen to help/answer questions. It's all good.

I program my favorite XM channels as stations (on Sync, there are 6 groups of 5 stations for a total of 30 programmed favorites), I can cycle through those favorites using the steering wheel forward/reverse buttons. I’m on Sync 3.4 and I assume Sync 4 is similar.

If you need more than 30 favorites then have to get a different vehicle

And as you pointed out, there is no separate set of just the favorites out of the total programmed so no easy way to get to only the favorites

Thanks. I wondered if I was missing something about programing (I've used it for a handful of FM stations) and it looks like I'm not.
