So, this morning I pulled my 23 Bronco Badlands Sport out of the garage. Went to place something in the back seat and heard a loud pop. I thought something in the garage fell.
I closed the passenger back door and started hearing a static electrical sound. It sounded like a possible electrical short.
I immediately pulled the Bronco away from the house and started trying to figure out what was happening. And started videoing in case it when up in flames or something. The original video is much longer, but this gets the point across. It’s the largest file I could upload.
After a minute or two with no smoke or smell, I deduced it might be the radio but wasn’t certain.
Shutting the engine off, turning the volume up and down, had no effect.
I was at a loss and thought I might have to disconnect the battery.
Finally I plugged in the lightning cable for the CarPlay and the sound stopped.
Is seems to be ok now. I scheduled an appointment for the Sync

| Program Number: 24B47 Recall Ford recently notified me about. I hope this will resolve the issue. The earliest appointment is in 2 weeks. Fingers crossed it was an isolated issue and not a real problem. If you don’t have a lightning cable for CarPlay on hand, it might be worth having one. |
