Price Listings

So here's a new quibble of mine......I've noticed more and more car dealer web sites are posting "call for price" or some other nonsense instead of listing the actual asking price for the listed vehicle. I would think that this is a ploy to get you to call the dealer and force you to have to actually speak to a con man, excuse me, sales representative. That is actually the last thing I want to do and as a result I will scroll right by that dealers website. Am I wrong in this thinking and there is some other reason for not listing the price on websites? Just curious......Thanks. John

Added dealer Markup, additional cash added to the asking price (pure profit) for popular or rarer models.
Add to that dealer added accessories not requested by the buyer, where the dealer gets themselves additional profit.
Either of these should tell the buyer to go elsewhere or consider anothe brand.

There used to be a time where I felt liked I needed to research myself up on local prices, options and everything before heading to do war at the dealership. Now, I just fly to Granger, IA, save 10-15%, done in 15 minutes, and instead of spending that day fighting with the guy in the business office, I spend it on the road, driving my new truck home and seeing the country. You don't have to play this game anymore.
