Ford routinely does C&I audits on dealers.
I Googled 'C&I audits' but nothing I saw seemed to apply. What does it mean in this context?

We picked up ours on Saturday and the dealer claimed there was no rebates but I could have sworn there was. Finance guy had another guy bring in some paperwork showing nothing offered.
Fast forward to today when the dealer called me saying there is a $1,000 rebate… and we will be getting it.
Made my Monday a lot better!
VERY interesting!

So either they truly were unaware, or they got caught.

I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt, but:

a) This "order credit" has been in effect for months.
b) If they were unsure they could have looked it up in Ford's system. In fact, they should do that anyway.

I'd like to know what's really going on.

I'm glad you got your $1,000 credit.

This exact thing happened to me, luckily I had taken a screenshot.
Edit: found the screenshot, it does state “ Bronco” excluded, Bronco Sport include

Ford Bronco Sport Picked up BS BL today. Dealer claimed $1,000 order incentive did NOT apply to Bronco Sport! Ford® Custom Order Your Ford Your Way
I needed this screenshot. I did it but can’t find it thank you so much

Not shocking , Ford dealerships are dishonest. Ford let's them get away with it for obvious reasons. It is why you don't walk out until you get what you want and deserve.
Some may be but I really don’t think their sales managers keep up with all that is going on. It actually may be the fault of the district rep or explaining the programs they have going on.

I'm really curious about whether there is a way for dealers to receive and keep the $1,000 order credit if the customer is not aware of it.

My dealer sent me a $500 check 2 months after I purchased my BS for an "unrealized dealer incentive" that they had apparently missed. It was quite a surprise.
can you DM me the name of this dealership in AZ? I have a feeling I know the name but curious anyway.

To all you cash buyers,

Do you stroll into the dealership with a briefcase full of $100 bills?

Just wondering....???

My understanding is the dealerships would rather have a personal check for security reasons.

That's what ours said. That surprised me -- that they'd accept a personal check for $20,000 (in our case) or more -- but apparently that's SOP. The money was not withdrawn from our account for several days.

When I bought my Yukon last fall I put $15,000 down from my debit card, I asked if he needed a cashiers check but the card was ok.

I always thought it would be fun to count out 40,000 in cash to buy a vehicle at a dealer or just tell them my accountant will take care of this and just drive off.

Both the salesman and the finance guy *insisted* that we were not eligible for the $1,000 credit.

The salesman had a Ford page open on his PC that listed eligible and ineligible vehicles. The print was so small that I couldn't read it. He saw that the "Bronco SUV" was ineligible and said that referred to the BS(?!). I said that "Bronco SUV" sounded like the "big Bronco". Nope, he swore it was the BS.

I kept saying that I knew I had seen the BS listed as one of the vehicles, in several different places. They claimed I was mistaken.

Finally I got online and found a Ford website clearly listing the BS. Oddly, after they had been so adamant that the $1,000 credit did not apply, neither of them looked at what I had found!

It was as if they knew all along that the $1,000 credit did apply but just wanted me to find proof. Pretty strange.

That begs the question, is there some reason they would not want us to get the credit/incentive? If we had believed them and not pursued it, could the dealership have kept the $1,000?

Edit to add: The salesman really pushed FordPass. From what we were told, I thought it was just a helpful little app so we installed it at the dealer. Back home I saw an email from FordPass. I clicked on the "Privacy" link and found that FordPass enables Ford to collect all sorts of potentially damaging/incriminating data -- speed; G-forces; location; direction, etc. I just started a thread about it -- it's over in the technical section:

https://www.broncosportforum.com/forum/threads/fordpass-is-watching-you-reporting-your-speed-g-forces-etc.5487/#post-93945
And you can simply turn the data mining off. Just poke around in your screens. It was easy to find for me.
The Owners manual covers it also.

My bank limits debit cards to $5k. It would be easier if I could just swipe and be done. I did rummage around in the bottom drawer of my filing cabinet and find a checkbook with all the right data on it. I'm ready to go as soon as my BS is built and delivered.
