This isn't quite correct. There are some really good YouTube videos where people show how these work. It's not merely a force multiplier of your foot. It changes the rate at which the throttle plate opens. Even with wot, the vehicle's computer works against your foot and the pedal commanders overcome this.

So, it's not just 1/4 throttle = 1/2 throttle. It also is much quicker at opening the throttle plate than the vehicle otherwise allows. Both of these things work together to give a better response. It also greatly helps offset the dreaded dead pedal that often results from these awful fly-by-wire systems.

I don't own one, but I'd really like to get a Banks Pedal Monster for my F-350.
I have one on my F150 and I just put one on my 2013 Escape Ecoboost. Both those vehicles have terrible throttle lag. The pedal commander makes them really fun to drive.

Thanks for the feedback! The intake I added is an included system so it's not open to the engine bay. I'm really thinking it has more to do with the pedal commander than anything. Eco mode is the WORST. I live in Northeast PA and it's all mountains here. The constant up and down made Eco mode very frustrating. Previously I was getting about 22mpg and now I'm getting about 15-17mpg.
That is AWFUL for a 3 cylinder engine.

I have the AF e-Power CAI also. As you stated it connects to the factory CAI duct. The AF unit alone doesnt really add much hp unless you open up the exhaust. Borh intake and exhaust mods are required to realize the full potential of both. Ive done both and gained 15 to 20% better mpg. Better acceleration as well, when needed. Make sure you have the cap in place that blocks engine bay heat. It may or may not make a difference. Even if its 100 degrees outside its still cooler than engine heat.

For the throttle module I dont have any input. I drive very conservatively for the most part. Personal driving habits probably make the biggest difference followed by bolt on mods. Im waiting for my warranty to end before I play with programming mods.

Thanks for that input. What exhaust did you change it to?

I used two 2.25" Stainless Steel Vibrant Resonators in place of the OEM Muffler. Tipped it off with 3" ceramic coated tips. I also removed the factory resonator just behind the Catalytic Convertor. Sounds great, no drone or rasp. Really good sound compared to 4 cyl with a Borla system

I'm a little late on responding to this thread but here goes. The Pedal Commander is a nice option although its a redundant feature as the GOAT modes accomplish basically the same thing. The PC changes the throttle inputs but not by much compared to the GOAT modes. The CAI from AFE is a nice one as it uses the OEM air intake duct so no change on intake air temps as it is pulling in outside air from the grill intake.. The issue is this; intake and exhaust work hand in hand to get the full potential, ie: mpg, h.p., performance, etc. Without a Cat-Back exhaust the CAI is more for show with just a small percentage of the potential gains I listed above without a exhaust mod to compliment it. I installed the same AFE CAI as you probably did, I upgraded to a Pro-S 5 filter as the flow characteristics are better than the dry filter. I also added a custom exhaust using two 2.25" Vibrant resonators in place of the OEM muffler tipped off with two 3" exhaust tips. I removed the OEM resonator to decrease flow resistance as well. Together with just the CAI and CB exhaust I increased mpg by over 25%. Performance was increased also but without a dyno test I couldn't even guess the hp or torque gain. I am a conservative driver so mpg was my gaol I was really surprised as I didn't expect the mpg gain I recorded. Any performance gains will vary by each vehicle. There are too many varibles such as driving style, terraine, temps, elevation, wind, tires, roof rack, cargo weight, etc. that need to be considered. In my case 80% of my driving is highway, 20% city, southern Florida (flat as a table) and as I said I drive very conservatively. If you haven't by now added a custom exhaust you will be surprised the difference it makes, not to mention the sound is awesome too. Good luck.

My before the mods and after the mods calculation method is the same.
Milaege ÷ Gallons = MPG.
I also adjusted my Fuel Bias using the Engineering Test Mode programmed into the ECU. The factory setting was off by 10%. I readjust every 10k miles to reflect the most accurate MPG. My current long term MPG is 34.3, (3862.4 miles).
I use Chevron 87, full syn Motorcraft oil, 38 psi tire presure on stock 18" wheels and cruise control as much as possible. I have gotten over 45 MPG one tank averages with a tail wind on 45 to 55 posted roads. MPG killers are city driving, head winds and going over 65 MPH. Of course cargo and passengers effect MPG as well. Higher octane fuel adds maybe .5 higher MPG but the extra cost doesn't offset the gain.

I have the Pedal Max and really like it.Sport Mode IMO doesn't work as good as the Pedal Max.And in Sport Mode it stays in the lower gears which i don't like. With the Pedal Max it shifts into the higher gears not revving as much as in Sport Mode.

I never read this post before and i don't have the Pedal Commander. But i have the Pedal Max and agree it makes the little 1.5 Eco Boost really fun to drive with great Throttle Response.
