But but...1.3 seconds. I mean I hammer 0--60 at least...never?
1.3s in 0-60 sounds like eternity, hahahahha

power is never enonugh.... If in that exactly moment you need power, it's there available for you.

Power? It's a brick...if you can differentiate 1.3 seconds "in that moment"...may want to consider professional racing. I call baloney sandwich. This isn't a kick you back in your seats high performance vehicle. But hey...if that's critical awesome.

^^This. Some goes for those of you who can really feel those five extra horsepower you get from a cold air intake. They invented dynamometers because even pros can't feel that kind of difference.

I don’t know why this subject is controversial.

The numbers don’t lie. The 2.0 is significantly more powerful than the 1.5.

The 2.0 in our Escape AWD felt stronger and quicker than the 1.5 in the Bronco Sport we test drove.

Better acceleration, better passing power, smoother and quieter. It’s a much more enjoyable engine.

The majority of small SUV buyers do not care one bit about how much power acceleration ect. They just want to go from point A to point B. Then there are others that get enjoyment out of a vehicle that can accelerate more briskly.

Its not controversial. Some ppl value a larger more powerful engine and others could not care less and see no purpose in a more powerful engine. Its just different perspectives no one is right or wrong here.

Agreed. It shouldn't be controversial, or even a question. The 2.0 is significantly more powerful than the 1.5 engine. Period. Some care, other's don't. Some try to paint those that care as lead-footed drag racers. That's ridiculous. Nobody is racing these SUVs. It's never been and never will be about speed. The additional power in the 2.0 is about safety. It's safer to have the additional torque and HP and acceleration when it's needed in real-world driving, than not to have it. And that's not really open for debate....it just is.

1.3 seconds is not an insignificant number but one number that gets lost is torque, the 1.5L puts out 181 HP and 190 pound-feet of torque, the 2.0L puts out 250 HP and 277 pound-feet of torque. A lot more low end grunt for off roading. Just to give you some comparisons a 2.3L Bronco engine puts out 300 HP with 325 pound-feet of torque and the 2.7L puts out 330 HP with 410 pound-feet of torque. On the surface you say only 30 more horses for the 2.7L but the extra 85 pound-feet of torque is a big number. JD Power describes the 1.5 as providing adequate performance and good fuel economy which I would agree with, but don't kid yourself into thinking you are going to do any serious off-roading with anything less than a BL. If all you are looking for is a nice looking vehicle to take to the mall, maybe some nice gravel roads or snowy streets in the winter than anything below a BL will work. If you want to do more serious off roading than you better be thinking BL or a big Bronco. It's not a matter of beating our chests or feeling superior, it really does matter how you use the vehicle as bbbronco_in_LBC pointed out, don't think you are going to take a OBX out on the sands of the OBX, you will either get stuck or worse you could damage to the vehicle. Now I know most of you will probably never go off-roading so a OBX or below is a good choice to save $$.
That's really it - that's the money quote, right there. The 1.5L engine provides "adequate performance and good fuel economy." Adequate will be good enough for a lot of people, and if it's good enough, then that's all that matters. Others find "Adequate" to be bare minimum and want more than that under the hood. Neither party is wrong.

I didn't want to beat a dead horse, the main thing I wanted to point out is there indeed is a real difference between the engines and the BL from the rest of the lineup. Whether it applies to how you use the BS is your own call, use and $$ make the decision for you. Just don't think I bought the 1.5 because there is no difference, you made a choice for $$ and MPG and forfeited some performance and any off road chops.

Of course that anyone knows what's more important for himself and what attend to own needs.

But please, don't come say that there is no noticeable performance between the engines.... There is a hole world

Do all Bronco Sports with the 1.5 have issues with excessive vibration and/or rattling from the engine?

I’m wondering if the one I test drove just happened to be problematic.

Cuda was spot on honestly. For my driving needs and style there is zero difference between the two. I've owned V8 hemi trucks, I've had challengers and other power minded sports cars...the sport is none of the above either 1.5 or 2.0 in perspective. If as said you are willing to pay some extra and get slight mpg less...that's a personal call and just fine. At no point will I be sucked back in my seats or did I feel any hesitation entering the freeway or passing while behind the wheel of the Big Bend or Badlands. Perhaps I should consider professional racing with a velvet smooth throttle touch? nah...just making a point there is no ABSOLUTE.

I test drove an Outer Banks before I ordered mine. It sounds like a lawn mower but seemed to move along keep up with traffic fine.

between a hemi V8 and the 2.0 there's not a world of difference, there is an entire universe

so, for me, a world between 1.5 and 2.0 is far enough, eheheheh

Never driven one, but 3 cyl engines naturally vibrates more than 4 /6 cyl
