I do miss that. Asinine that they market OB as the combiner/luxury and do not have a 360 overhead view or at least a front camera. Simply silly!
I agree. Would seem like the OB should have it. I suppose Ford considered it part of the off-roading features (hence, Badlands), but reality is, it's great in numerous situations.

I am bummed that the ob doesn't have the front camera.
But another appeal of ob is better gas mileage

That and Cost are the two most meaningful reasons for the OB vs. Badlands + Premium package, in my opinion.

I believe all trims in Canada come with rain-sensing and de-icing wipers, my Badlands does, not sure why it's different in the US. I love the front camera for parking, it's very handy. Personally, I wasn't a fan of the blue seats as they reminded me of the interiors from the 80s/90s, my old Bronco II had a blue interior. I like the height of the Badlands, no need for it to be any higher. Obviously, the cost would be a factor, the current MRSP for an OB is the same as the price I paid for my loaded Badlands. Also, the OB wheels don't do anything for me, I prefer the ones I have.

I'm getting ready to order my new BS. Things that are important to me are: leather seats, body color door handles, 360+, tow hitch (just in case - not hauling anything large). I won't be doing any major off roading, but I may occasionally take it on vacations in the blue ridge mountains or want to drive it on the beach, etc... It will primarily be my daily driver, and I do a decent amount of highway driving. I'm debating between the Outer Banks and Badlands, but it would be significantly more expensive to get a Badlands with the leather seats + body color door handles.

My question is... will I miss the larger engine in the Badlands if I go with the Outer Banks? Or will I just appreciate the better gas mileage in the OB? I can't find one near me to test drive and am mainly concerned about the pick up on highways. Any thoughts or comparisons between the two would be helpful!
As someone who goes to that area on a regular basis the 1.5 does really well in the mountains.

I wanted the badlands and unfortunately when I ordered mine they shut down ordering for the badlands so I ordered a ob.

Wait, are we sure the bronco sport outer banks doesn't have a front camera? Doesn't the goat mode for sand have that?

There would be a button under the monitor to activate/deactivate the camera. And you'd see a camera lens on the front of your car, in the grill.

The outer banks can go off-road. I'd bet 99% of badlands use is nothing more harsh than loose gravel, fire roads, or a municipal dirt road...the hype over badlands seems over the top.
The Badlands is the best Bronco Sport to purchase. I owned an Outerbanks and recently traded it in for a Badlands. The Badlands is more powerful, higher off the ground, has better suspension, standard rubber floors, and front facing camera. We had some rather large snow drifts up in the mountains over here and the Badlands literally plowed right through them. I even stopped wheel well deep in snow and the Badlands literally crawled right out with no issue whatsoever.

All due respect but that's most likely tires and not the negligible half inch or so of ground clearance or even upgraded AWD system. I lived in a very snowy climate for a long time and never had 4wd or AWD and never had an issue as long as I had good tires. The standard AWD system is good and the Michelin primacy tires that come on the outer banks aren't great in snow at all. If anyone questions the ability of their non badlands just go watch the fast lane truck YouTube video where they test a non badlands on their off-road course and to the amazement of the host it passed everything with some good at tires

Omg. I'm so done with this pompous thread.

Yes, I live where there's a lot of snow and I'm on the road in the morning before the plows. I've come to a stop, and then kept going...literally. Powered through plenty of drifts. No issues whatsoever. I have standard rubber floor mats...my seats and steering wheel are heated, but that's neither here nor there. Sure the BL has a limited slip clutch diff but from what ive experienced the OB engages if I keep the power down. I've been on some of the same trails I had my cj7 on (35's with lockers) and this is one of the best performing adaptable AWD's I've seen. I do have a lift with AT tires but i would have done the same if i had a BL. The 2.0 is great, no doubts there. But I am supper impressed with the 1.5's power and mpg, glad I have that right now.
Its a light vehicle. The 2.0 can tow more but the engine doesn't change the load rating...and I didn't buy it for towing.
So, overall. Is the BL a better vehicle? Sure, but not by much. And for me personally, not worth another 5k.

It's all about priorities. If I wanted the best off-road vehicle I would've gotten a full-sized Bronco. I didn't. I wanted off-road capability AND decent fuel economy—and the Bronco looks, of course. If fuel economy had been my priority I would've gotten a Bronco Sport with a 1.5L and not had a second thought.

THE BEST is just perspective, and in your environment, and based on your use, I agree with you 100%. Sorry I'm not the best tag kind of person. reliable, gets the job done, yes and yes. I had a Honda Element long ago, bad storm here, guys in 4x4 were struggling, that element just gutted it out. Running fire calls, I had to pick a few guys up and drop them off, couldn't get their trucks out of the driveway. Not knocking the Badlands, I own one. It's more status than function for 90% of buyers. I try to encourage anyone looking at a Sport...the badge shouldn't be the main focus. If it works for them...great. But the base model is capable enough for anyone with a tight budget and basic needs realistically.

Total Disclosure - The only reason I got the Badlands was for the 2.0 If the 2.0 had been offered in the Big Bend, I would have chose that.

Oh I support your perspective 100%. My dealer strongly encouraged the 2.0. After testing the Big Bend, and driving the Badlands as my vehicle, neither are my old challenger
all of your points make it a great vehicle for your needs. I have a badlands, I'm by no means knocking it. I just try to reinforce the idea, every badge level is capable of a lot more than most give credit. Some need the power for their driving habits and locale... some like the bigger everything. Pay up and do whatever you want :) It's all good. I didn't buy the badlands for anything more than it's the first vehicle I've made a distinct choice to upgrade stuff instead of taking what's on the lot and accepting that. It's a great vehicle, closing on 19K miles and I love every mile of it.

Had a BB with the 1.5 and i couldn't stand the vibration and shake the engine had. I hope the people who have them have zero issues up to whatever mileage they go up to but it made me nervous thinking of a 1.5 with the vibration lasting.
