I have a 2024 BS BB. I live in Phoenix, AZ.
My first oil change was at 6 months at 1432 miles.
Three months later, I now have 2,303 miles on the odometer and my oil life shows 77%.

Seems odd that at only 900 miles, the oil life was reduced by 23%. Is this normal?

I will be taking a 3,000 mile road trip in a couple of weeks.
Should I change my oil before my trip?

I appreciate your input.

Maybe the oil life was not reset after the first oil change at 6 months 1432 miles?
This. 77% at 2,300 miles indicates a 10,000 mile interval.

I bought a leftover '24 Badlands and I'm at 418 miles and 89%. At 2300, I'll probably be 77% or less.
The oil meter means nothing to me. I go with 5k or 1 year full synthetic oil changes.

Oil life depends on multiple factors. How you drive, long or short trip length, the environmental conditions hot, cold, vehicle load and or towing

I was just in Arizona (Lake Havasu), it was hot and I know it stays that way for an extended periods of time and in that environment if you use your vehicle I would change my oil more frequently than the standard 10K interval, it's cheap insurance.

For us in the PHX metro, It's every 5K miles or 6 months, whichever comes first.

Yes change it. Old oil creates a small acidity in the old oil. That's why they say change every 3000 or 6 months
