I've noticed on the online configurator, new physical listings online and in person that the '23 Bronco Sport Outer Banks and Badlands no longer come with a two-tone roof. The Outer Banks came standard with the Shadow Black roof whereas the Badlands could be optioned either with the same Shadow Black roof or Carbonized Grey roof. Now they're all body colored as you would find on the Base and Big Bend. I have a reason as to why they did this.... cost-cutting. It's probably cheaper and more efficient to paint the cars one color instead of having to worry about slowing the production line to apply the two-tone. I'm curious as to how other's feel about it? Do you prefer the two-tone or body color? Let me know in the comments below.
The black roof is now a $500 option

I prefer the two-tone also, but not in black. Don't like the look nor the fact that black absorbs too much heat. Luckily my Eruption Green BL scheduled to be built next week has the Carbonized Grey roof. The C/G has been discontinued along with Area 51, the color of my current BL.

Actually for 2024, they have gone back to a standard black roof for BL and OB, with a option for body color - no more $500 fee for this option. I think that must have gone over like a ton of bricks on the 2023 Job 2 Sports.

I think if you select body color option it defaults your vehicle color choice to black.

Standard black roof has to be in the extra cost of the '24. I wonder what Ford will delete on the '24 model. I know of the hood insulator, front of the firewall insulation piece ( I still had), engine cover . What else has been deleted from 2021?

You are right. I did build and price, and it just defaults to black. Stupid. I am not sure why Ford is so insistent on limiting choice. That should be the selling point of the special order model they want to develop. Right now, you have that choice - on a Big Bend. You can get body color or black, with the BAP package. Why would the lowest trim level have the most options? You should also be able to get the BAP wheels and trim on an OB or BL with the cost of the black roof deducted. Doesn't make any sense why BB owners are the only ones who can get a BAP.

The two tone was one of the reasons we chose the OBX. Did not need the BL capability.

And a 2.0L option would make the OBX nearly a perfect vehicle for me.

I prefer the body color roofs on nearly all color combos. I think the carbonized grey roof looks good on a dark color, like the green or area 51. But, I was very happy that by the time I ordered, the body colored roof was standard. Black roof wouldn't have been a deal-killer by any means, but I just like the solid color better.

A white roof (as in Heritage) may be a better option, particularly since it complements the white badging on grille and tailgate. But, I'd still opt for body color.

I'm not sure that the dealer's salesman even know what's going in withthe roof color options.
I ordered a Shadow Black BS BL today, and the salesman's Build software showed the carbonized gray roof as an option.

It changed for Job 2 of 23MY but for 24MY will be back to black roof for OB and BL again.

I prefer the two-tone, it works best with the blocky style that I love. I was very happy to have the choice of carbonized grey on my Rapid Red '21 BL! It is more unique looking, stands out, and I have yet to see another Bronco like mine.
