Need help figuring out how to get the front bearings off a front lower control arm on bronco sport big bend 2024

I can see why they sent me invoice fro 2,000 dollars in parts alone. I checked those parts and they are charging me like way past MSRP.

ford always charges about double what you can buy a aftermarket part for, but every now and then they surprise you, so it is always worth it to get a quote on parts from ford. I found out when doing the front draglink on my truck a complet unit was 110.0 cdn from ford, where I bought a pushing and fought to get the old one out and the new one in and it cost me 80 bucks and about 4 hours of my time, so in the end rebuilding it cost me about 280.00 if I factor in my pay rate for my time

Howdy everyone,

First off want to say the bronco sport big bend is the best compact suv for light off roading and it being your first vehicle.

Anyways, I hit a curb and now the bearing in the rear lower control arm is destroyed. So I decide to be a responsible car owner and try to replace the entire control arm by myself. I have done a couple of mechanical works here and there and I always follow the manufactures or expert advice. and if given advice I ensure to learn more about it. Anyways as I removed the lower ball joint, and rear bearing I hit a wall and saw a subframe bracket shield covering the bolt head or nut I need to screw off. I then remover the outer tire rod end, and the sway bar to give me some more room.

really bummed out I was moving along so well and get stuck on something like this.

Does anybody by chance know how to take off the front bearing of the Lower control arm that is cover by the shield for the subframe brakes that cover the "ears" of the subframe where the front bearing is clamped in a bronco sport.

howdy everyone! just wanted to give an update. I had to remove the under shield, side wheel cloth guards, the entire grill and bottom bumper, and the cross bar. After that I was able to remove that extended subframe bracket. Got the lower control arm replaced. Torqued everything to spec. Put everything back and she riding way better than before !!!
I still need the wheel replaced and inner and outer tire rod replaced. Got those parts on hand ! I just am relived to get over that huge task! I was so nervous at first working on my Bronco but thank to yall and everyone I saved myself thousands from the dealership and mechanics !!!

will post a pic hopefully this weekend of the completed project !
