I got this fault this morning when I headed out to the store. Battery good, not a low battery, I keep it on a battery tender.
Built-In Navigation, not Connected Service (Subscription Nav).
I noted that my cruise control was not working. It would not enable and wasn't reading Speed Limit signage. I checked the radar sensor and window camera when I arrived at my destination - they were both clean, no road salt, no dirt.
Before arriving at my destination, I turned off the engine at a Red light. then restarted. Same error on screen.
Now the details: When I got in my car, I plug in my cell phone as usual. Then remembered that I had disabled WiFi, Location, and Bluetooth the night before. I re-enabled these while the Infotainment screen was still starting up. I suspect that is what caused the error. When I started my car after completing my errand, all was normal: Navigation map working, cruise control and ACC working normally.

Mental note to self: Don't do that (enable cell phone Wifi/location/Bluetooth while SYNC 3 is still in startup/bootup).

Ford Bronco Sport Navigation Fault? What's this? 02.15.25 Navigation Fault_resiz

In case anyone is wondering...I blanked out the Radio station and my cell phone connection in the camera picture. They were visible as normal.

That’s odd .. cruise control and ACC working would not depend on the cell phone Wifi/location/Bluetooth being enabled or not enabled and would not depend on having the cell phone in the car or not

Perhaps just a random glitch that self corrected and your Ford navigation, cruise control and ACC corrected itself

My guess is… low battery even though you had it on a charger

You probably will never know the cause

Can you share with us your current Build of SYNC 3.4?

SYNC 3.4 23188. When I bought the car, I checked it to be sure that it is current.

That's what I'm thinking also. When I shut off the engine in traffic, I did not open the door. Thinking now that I should have opened and closed my door to see if it cleared.
OTOH, I wanted the screen error to be there when I reached my destination to take a picture of it.

You can reboot the sync 3 system by holding power and next track button (not the steering wheel). Should be safer than turning off your car and opening the door.

With my (not so) EcoSport, I used to get that occasionally. Worse yet while I was in the middle of my trips! I started using Google and never went back

As I said, this is the built-in Voice Navigation, not the Subscription version. I rarely use Nav, so that part's not a concern, but the temporary loss of cruise control is bothersome.

How often do you experience the temporary loss of cruise control? That just sounds like a defect, maybe a sensor or the switch

Built-in Navigation is Built-in Navigation. There is no subscription. You either have the most current maps or not.

You purchase the updated maps once a year. You have 3 years of opportunities to download an updated map one time per year.

This was the only time that this happened.

My point is that it doesn't require a connetction to function.
