When at the navigation screen, it shows routes, etc, which I want. But at the right there is another screen showing music, sports, radio, etc which I don't want there as it blocks part of the route screen. I cannot get rid of it.

Your 25 OuterBanks has sync 4. I have had 25 Bronco Sports loaners with sync 4 and I have a 25 Escape with sync 4 so I am familiar with the sync 4 setup. When you tap on navigation to bring it to a full screen there is a rectangular screen on the right side. You can slide the rectangular screen up or down to show a different screen like phone or trip screen. I have tried to remove the rectangular on the right side and have not found any settings that allow you to not show that screen.

I think you may be right, so I will give it a shot. The problem is that when I tap the smaller screen, it becomes bigger and the navigation screen becomes smaller.

Unfortunately, Apple (and Android) know best. :sunglasses:

There is no way to customize the display beyond "Dashboard" mode and App mode.

In App mode, the selected app (maps, a music service, etc) takes over the whole screen.

In Dashboard mode, you get a divided screen with the larger portion dedicated to maps/navigation and 2 or 3 other smaller windows (THAT part is configurable). The top right shows navigation options (directions/next turn, etc). The lower portion shows your audio app. And at least with CarPlay, you have the option for a third smaller window that shows your upcoming calendar event.

And with iOS 26, you also get another screen option for iPhone widgets.

Yes, if you tap the smaller screen it replaces the current expanded screen

2025 OBX here. In the upper right hand corner of the infotainment screen below the home icon is a pair of angled arrows, I just press those to get rid of the screen on the right or to bring it back as needed. Sometimes I want to see who the artist is on Sirius Xmas without filling the whole screen. Good luck

Just checked my 25 Escape. There are 4 little arrows inside a circle pointing out in 4 directions. Tapping the circle makes navigation a full screen. When in full screen mode the little arrows in the circle are pointing in. The circle with arrows are in the bottom right of the screen. Thank you for that information.

This is the way. The crossed arrows will make the GPS map full screen when pressing that toggle.

TL;DR

Just changed from a F150 with Ford Nav to a 2025 BroncoSport without Ford Nav so have experience with both Sync4 systems.

Short Story

For both systems, two taps gets AndroidAuto maps to complete full-screen:
  • With Ford Nav - tap on AndroidAuto control on bottom icon bar, then tap on AndroidAuto Map app icon
  • Without Ford Nav - tap on Full-Screen control at top, right, then tap on AndroidAuto Map app icon
Long Story
  • Note that Ford Sync and AndroidAuto (cannot speak to Apple Carplay) both have split modes! Thus is possible to see:
    • THREE panels - AndroidAuto Panel [ Map + AndroidAuto Music (for example) ] + Ford Sync4 Panel <-- this is the default view
    • TWO panels - AndroidAuto Map + Ford Sync4
    • ONE panel - AndroidAuto Map in complete full-screen
  • My Bronco without Ford Nav has the 4-arrow control at the top-right to shift the AndroidAuto Screen to full-screen mode
    • Tapping that 4-arrow control removes the Ford Sync panel on the right
    • AndroidAuto defaults to two views, the currently selected map app on the left and some other app (music, phone, etc.) on the right
  • Android Auto has its own, separate full-screen enabled this way
    • To shift the current AndroidAuto Map app to full-screen tap the AndroidAuto map control (i.e., GoogleMap, Waze, etc) on the AndroidAuto app controls
    • When AndroidAuto is in NON-full-screen mode, these app icons are on the bottom of the AndroidAuto display
    • When it's in full-screen mode, the app icons are on the left side of the AndroidAuto display
    • I only ever see four of these app icons, the latest at the left or top, then in order of use up to four total
  • On my F150 with Ford Nav
    • Did not have that 4-arrow shift-to-full-screen control at the top right
    • Tapping on the AndroidAuto control that was along the bottom of the Sync4 screen (where all the buttons are for shifting between Audio, AndroidAuto, Ford Nav, Settings, etc.) shifted AndroidAuto to full-screen mode, with its default two app mode (a Map app and another app - on the F150 I could change which app was closer to the driver)
    • Tapping on the AndroidAuto mapping app icon (as mentioned above) shifted the mapping app to full screen.
Hope this helps someone. I'll add that there is NOTHING about any of this in the Ford manuals. They've created a software product (because that's what Sync4 is - a tablet with operating system) with NO manual - you're supposed to just figure it out by tapping on its controls. This retired 30-year IT guy finds that simply terrible customer support. And yes, I figured out the things I wrote above when in the F150 I accidentally got AndroidAuto into complete full-screen mode (so I knew it was possible) and kept tapping controls (the official term for what those tappable-things are on your cell-phone or tablet and now vehicle screens) until I figured it out. A helluva way to do things.

Great explanation. Thanks for that. I came to the 2025 Bronco Sport/SYNC4 from a 2021 Ford Ranger with SYNC3 and factory navigation.

That is essentially how the CarPlay interface works, as well. Instead of the 4-way arrow, I see a 2-way arrow, but the functionality is almost identical.
