My car automatically goes into park!

ASS shuts off engine, she presses the “Engine Start Stop” button because she thinks the car needs to be started which I’ve done as well

Vehicle now in park and when she lets off the brake the vehicle rolls downhill

I agree with Mark S, it’s the scenario that makes most sense

As I said, I can see how what Mark described can happen -- however it did not happen that way in our case.

I was standing right there, talking with her. Our recollections are the same.

What Mark described is something to watch out for though.

If the engine was still running when she stopped the car then my scenario isn't applicable. If the ASS has shut down the engine pressing the Start button doesn't restart the engine--at least on my car. It simply shuts down the ignition system and places the transmission in park.
