I took my bs into my local dealer today with multiple issues. First issue: battery hold down hardware severely corroded. Second: Rear brake groan when backing up-- Ford known issue. Third: paint wearing and worn down to bare metal on all four door corners. I read a post on this forum about the same issue. It appears the doors fit too tight to the rocker panel rubber seal. The service writer said that they will have to send the vehicle out to be painted, and when I asked about how they are going to stop the wear, she said that they will have to adjust the doors. I wonder how many more bs have this type of door fit issues? See attached pictures of the worn paint...

I checked on my 2021 Badlands with 23k and don't seem to have this issue.

aside from the rare rear brake groan while reversing, I have none of these issues. 24K trouble free miles on my 22 Badlands.

its a shame you are dealing with that. I’d be pissed

Not happy at all--trying to be patient with Ford.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

I was told by my local Ford dealer that Ford declined to repair my vehicle in a text message from them. When I picked up my vehicle this is what the work order said: "normal as compared to like unit". see attached picture. I can't wrap my head around how a bronco sport can have the paint wearing and worn through from opening and closing the doors especially at less than 15k miles on it. The door is rubbing on the rubber seal on the rocker panel trim. I read Ford's warranty all the way through and this type of issue is not specifically stated as not being covered by their warranty--this is not normal wear and tear! I have an escalated claim started with Ford, and if I need to, I'll file a complaint with the "BBB Auto Line" and start the arbitration process. Many vehicle manufacturers participate in this process and are required to abide by the decision of the arbitrator. I believe I have an excellent case to get Ford to correct this issue, because this is a manufacturing and or engineering issue and not a normal issue.

That’s good work on your part, you documented everything, read through the warranty and know the next steps to take and will pursue those steps. We are with you on this and I hope you get a satisfactory resolution!

Haha. "Normal as compared to like unit." In other words, we have two samples of crappy install. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Update: Ford is covering the paint wearing issue, and replacing the defective battery hold down hardware under warranty. It took me having to talk to the service manager to get it done. I'm happy that Ford is covering the issues.
