Muffler replace 1.5L

Has anyone replaced the 1.5 stock muffler only with something from Magnaflow or other muffler manufacturers. Would be much cheaper than an entire axle or catback system.

Unless you buy a take off muffler from ebay or if a board member has one they want to sell the OEM and aftermarket mufflers are in the$300 dollar range and up. Obviously if you need one you need one. Another possibility would be an independent muffler shop in the hood.
I used to frequent those places long ago, some could do amazing work.

I can get a magnaflow or any other brand for $150 to $200.
I’m just curious if someone has done it and it sounds good.
I don’t want to shell out hundreds to over a grand for an axel back or cat back

Yes, universal mufflers can be had for less.

The MRT Bronco Sport exhaust is one of the simplest and least expensive bolt on setups I've seen. There is a sound comparison on their site.

I see you already bounced on the V8 Yankee exhaust post, he ended up making his own exhaust after trying retail systems.

Exhaust sound is subjective, it's difficult to get a decent sound clip and what sounds good to some doesn't sound good to others.

For me I am not interested in more noise, between wind noise and tire/road noise my Badlands is noisy enough.

Good luck in finding what your looking for, you may have to experiment on your own.

I had a magnaflow muffler on my F150 and it sounded good and didn’t drone to holy hell. Then again it was a 2.7 6 cylinder.
I’m just curious if anyone has done similar and if it sounds good. Not paying a grand for the street series
