I’m installing Morimoto Ditch Light Brackets today along with some Auxbeam led lights. I went with the Morimoto brackets because I like the way they go between the hood hinge and hood bolts with a slotted mounting hole one bolt at a time. I’m hoping to not have to fiddle with hood realignment after the installation. We will see in practice. They also have a built in clip to tidy up the wiring.

I have a 25 Badlands Sasquatch 🫈 and will be making use of one of the factory installed aux switches. I’ll be fishing the pre wired switch feed from out of the drivers side wheel well, fun. I’ll update this once I’m done 🤞🏼

FYI!!!

Do not overtighten the nuts when reattaching them to the hood. They WILL break the bolt. Don’t ask me how I know. They need like 12lb-ft of torque.

And that is ALL. It is not an easy fix if you break them.

Oh man thanks for the heads up. I can see how easy that would be to do.

hope you were able to fix it 😬

POST INSTALL UPDATE

The brackets and lights were easy peasy to install. There was some movement in the hood with the hinge bolts loosened up so I’m glad I traced around them with a sharpie before loosening. I think the slotted holes in the Morimoto brackets definitely made it easier. Thanks again Frenchy for the tip on the bolt torque. I totally would have over torqued them.

What was total pain in the ass was accessing and splicing into the aux switch wires. They’re under the drivers side wheel liner so you need to remove the wheel and partially remove the liner. Trying to get in there to splice a longer wire to these 4 inch long wires was ridiculous. Why the hell they chose to put them here is baffling.

Done except for aiming now. I’m still cursing Ford for that Aux wire location 😡

A short video of where to find two of the four Aux switch wires. Yellow is the 30 amp AUX 1 circuit on, purple & green is the 10 amp AUX 3 circuit. They’re wound up with electrical tape which was a bugger to cut through up in there. I still don’t understand why but it’s where they are 🤔

Aux switch wires. I still don’t get it but it’s where they are. Yellow is the 30 amp circuit on the AUX 1 switch, purple and green is the AUX 3 switch and a 10 amp circuit.
Thanks for sharing the setup, very helpful.

Quick question: what are you using inside the cabin to control those AUX circuits? Are those wired to factory switches?

I have a Badlands (non-Sasquatch), so I don’t have any auxiliary switch panel from the factory. I see you’re running a Sasquatch — does it come with dedicated AUX switches inside, or did you install an aftermarket solution?

Just trying to understand how you’re controlling those circuits from the interior.

Thanks again.

That is correct. I am using the factory auxiliary switches that come with the Sasquatch package.

These switches are pre-fused and include integrated relays, so the installation is straightforward: you simply connect the hot lead from your lights to the factory aux wires and ground the lights to the chassis.

In theory, this setup makes installation much easier. However, digging out the factory-installed wiring can be quite a chore. The switches in the cabin are nicely integrated into the interior though.

If your vehicle didn't come with the factory switches, there are several aftermarket options for the cabin. Some of these are even wireless, which saves you the trouble of routing wires through the firewall.

The Auxbeam lights I was using come with a full wiring harness and a single switch that you can put inside the cabin. You would need to bring a wire through the firewall for the switch, but it is pretty inclusive. I didn’t use that. I only used for pigtails off the back of the lights.

I agree - on my Wrangler with factory switches the connecting wires were in the engine comparment on the passenger side near the top. Very easy to wire.
The Jeep wires were probably labeled too weren’t they 😂. Ford didn’t need to make it this hard. Even the Ford cryptic wiring diagram changes labels from Aux 1,2,3,4 to A,B,C,D leaving the customer to have to decipher which is which.

Oh well it works now.

Must be nice that your wiring diagram went from 1 2 3 4 to ABCD. I'm pretty sure this is my wiring diagram for the auxiliary switches in my big bin with the black diamond off-road package...

On the full size with the aux switches, the wires are all color coded and have placements where you would expect to connect switches too. Doesn’t seem they chose the best location unless they were thinking using that circuit for rock lights.

Yeah I know. It seems like the bronco sport aux wire locations where the poorest choice on any vehicle that has ever been supplied with aux switches. I've installed tons of auxiliary lighting on the super duties we have at work, all the wiring from those switches goes to one location under the hood. So easy

I could almost hear the Ford engineers laughing as I was trying to splice into those wires buried up high in the wheel well.

Almost as stupid as the ECU location 😢

Remember that although the ‘25’-‘26 Bronco Sport with the Aux switches includes 4 relays (one 30A circuit and 3 10A circuits), Ford kept the wiring short (reported to be about 22ga). Some owners recommend using Ford’s supplied wiring to drive additional relays! and running heavier gauge wiring as appropriate for the load being driven

there’s a good post on this forum with that level of detail
