That’s cool. And I missed that it earlier got the best new ride to buy for a teenager.

"In that regard, the Ford Bronco Sport scored a 3 out of 5 in terms of predicted overall owner satisfaction, with individual scores of 78 out of 100 for driving experience, 68 for comfort, 44 for value, and 83 for styling."

These scores make sense to me, must be because I agree with them, but what catches my eye is the 44 for value. I'm happy with the price I paid for mine but with the price increases the BroncoSport is starting to touch Grand Cherokee territory which is a bit concerning. I think its getting a bit expensive for what it is, which is a dam good CUV and a trend setting one at that, but Ford needs to remember that it is a CUV and keep it price competitive.

Judging from that score other people share a similar perspective.

My daughter loves it!!! That was one of the reasons we bought the Sport for her. It came up as one of the top vehicles for new drivers, teen drivers, etc.

I’m happy with the BS purchase. Do I think it was pricey for what we got? Absolutely. There are a lot of other vehicles with more features and better gas mileage that I could have purchased for the same price. But I didn’t. I don’t regret the purchase, my daughter loves the Sport. But the price is definitely approaching bigger, nicer vehicles.

Agreed, thanks to CarMax resale and the crazy market, I effectively ended up in my 22 Badlands for what I paid for my 21 Big Bend. But "off the street," I'm not sure I would've went with the Sport Badlands at 22 prices, let alone 23. In particular, the quality of the interior materials is terrible for the asking price.

At almost 50k for a Heritage Limited, that's 15k more than I paid for my Badlands out the door price which included the TTL.

Not worth that kinda scratch, that's full size territory.

I don't begrudge Ford for increasing prices on a popular vehicle. The Bronco and Bronco Sport are among the most exciting new vehicles that've come from a US manufacturer in quite some time. It's the profit Ford makes from vehicles like this that allows them to invest in more daring design efforts.

Supply and demand, sure. But the Sport we're all driving and enjoying was designed before the pandemic supply chain issues + FED-induced inflation. So Ford's asking a rich price for what was originally intended as a high-volume mid-tier vehicle. The interior material quality is the biggest tell here. Nothing wrong with that -- I thought the 21 sticker price vs. features and quality was fair.

In this alternate universe, you'd be able to pick up former rental fleet 21 Bronco Sports all day long for "cheap," and I'm sure the end-of-year deals on Base and Big Bend models would be very attractive.

I'm not saying I would pay the price Ford is currently asking, I just don't see anything morally wrong with asking a price the market will bear. If people are willing to pay Ford's asking price then more power to 'em.

Dealers were regularLy marking sports up and finding buyers at those inflated prices. So Ford knew they could raise the price. And yes they are pricey but competition is still dull and boring.

To me, I think a paint job, different seat covers and using a far reaching heritage DNA moniker on the Bronco Sport is not worth the price of admission.

It gets in the article but with the predicted reliability the actual score of 57 against other CUVs is actually really quite poor. As a CR subscriber, I can see the reliability dings - which are unfortunately very broad and not characterized beyond the "problem area". The two "way below average reliability" areas are engine major (which I've heard the 1.5L has a lot of issues with water pump leaks) and breaks (which I've heard tons of noise about ?.

I'm hoping that some of these reliabity scores are ironed out in time, although I've heard the owners who have experienced brake issues generally haven't had positive results from the TSBs.

I've got over 600 Miles now (yea, not a lot yet), and so far, no noisy brakes at the rear when driving in reverse or forward.
