My daughter loves it!!! That was one of the reasons we bought the Sport for her. It came up as one of the top vehicles for new drivers, teen drivers, etc.
Iām happy with the BS purchase. Do I think it was pricey for what we got? Absolutely. There are a lot of other vehicles with more features and better gas mileage that I could have purchased for the same price. But I didnāt. I donāt regret the purchase, my daughter loves the Sport. But the price is definitely approaching bigger, nicer vehicles.
Agreed, thanks to CarMax resale and the crazy market, I effectively ended up in my 22 Badlands for what I paid for my 21 Big Bend. But "off the street," I'm not sure I would've went with the Sport Badlands at 22 prices, let alone 23. In particular, the quality of the interior materials is terrible for the asking price.
Supply and demand, sure. But the Sport we're all driving and enjoying was designed before the pandemic supply chain issues + FED-induced inflation. So Ford's asking a rich price for what was originally intended as a high-volume mid-tier vehicle. The interior material quality is the biggest tell here. Nothing wrong with that -- I thought the 21 sticker price vs. features and quality was fair.
I'm not saying I would pay the price Ford is currently asking, I just don't see anything morally wrong with asking a price the market will bear. If people are willing to pay Ford's asking price then more power to 'em.
Dealers were regularLy marking sports up and finding buyers at those inflated prices. So Ford knew they could raise the price. And yes they are pricey but competition is still dull and boring.
