When backing up I sometimes hear the same moaning noise. Kind of like a distant fog horn. I have an 2024 BB and it has been making that noise since purchase. I have not done any tire lift mods. Anyone know anything about this?

Yep, sounds like the preverbal brakes issue.

Search here on brake noise. You will see you are not alone. There is a TSB to correct this issue. Read abut it here:

There are 3 TSBs on the issue and all are obsolete now - last thing Ford said on the topic is to expect a fix “4Q 2024”

The noise will only get louder as time goes by In my experience. I always back into parking spaces if the car will be sitting a long time. It only happens when backing up after the car has been sitting a long time (cold brakes). It also only occurs when it's humid, wet and or cold. Hopefully Ford will finally find a way to repair it for good.

Also happens when it’s hot even 90°F and hotter with no humidity

Although I believe those experiencing this noise most frequently report it occurs when conditions are cold and damp, as @Dude noted, a few have reported it occurs under ALL conditions.

I've never heard it on my car when the brakes are warmed up.

Hi there! Would you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership name and location? I’d like to look into this concern on my end.

That has not been MY experience. They never make noise when the brakes are warm and dry. But it obviously is different for some owners. I hope that Ford after 3 plus years and 3 attempts to fix it, finally comes up with a permanent solution. This is simply unacceptable.

yes it does...quite annoying for a brand new vehicle. then again, the front brakes suck too, the front brakes make more groaning noises that my 25 year old Vette.

You are the first person I've seen report groaning noises on the front brakes. Can you be more specific? All the time, or just when applying the brakes? Forward or reverse? Braking force applied (hard or soft)? Vehicle speed?

I have the same issue. I took my truck to koons Ford on security blvd. They said it was a recall. Had my truck for 4 days until they called me to let me know that they were waiting for a part. Ok finally after a month the "part" came in. They called me after they "fixed" the recall. Well, I parked the truck at home for approx. 4 hours. When I backed up OMG the noise was still there. I called Koons and my service rep was supposed to have called me back. That was 1 month ago. I am just going to drop it off again. SMH I know this did not help you, yet I want you to know know that you are not alone in this noise matter.

I'm not MedTech, but my front brakes will moan when I'm going very slow (like sitting and moving/stopping in a drive-through line). It's a little annoying, but I will live with it until it's time to do the brakes. I hate the front pads due to the dust (probably from Ford switching to a higher-friction brake pad to meet a federal stopping distance requirement with a failed brake booster). I am thankful that I've never had the backing issue at almost 20k. Cheers!

Hey thank you, I took my truck to Koons ford on security blvd. I took with me the TSB print out that you sent. They were shocked. I picked the truck up and still the sound is still there after sitting for a long time or weird temp. :( I am sad because its been since I had the truck

Is this noise the same as the "dying whale" noise from the rear brakes?

I'll say no it's not, although I've only heard the "dying whale" moan through other members' videos, etc. It's just a loud, quick moan just before stopping when creeping forward. Cheers!
