Hey everyone,

I had some extra fordpass points so was looking around the site and came across these "Lumen Underbody Courtesy Illumination" lights. They seemed interesting, and I assumed at least someone somewhere had gotten them and posted it online, but nope. Curious, does anyone have any experience or any thoughts on them? Thanks!

Again, when it comes to LED, in particular, LEDs that will be exposed to the gravest of elements in the undercarriage ... just understand that these will not be a lasting item. Not on your daily driver they won't.

You want to have them for a while ,and look good for a FINITE period of time, at that price point? Then have at it.

Underbody lights are not legal everywhere, or have limitations on color, location, and use.

Excerpt:
"New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts have bans on underglow lights installed on the exterior of vehicles. "

Also, the “courtesy” aspect of them is they only turn on when the Car is parked and a door opens. I believe the concept is to help you see when getting in and out at night.

How did you connect the do they stay on the whole time or just when a door open

This is what I’m wanting any ideas on how to accomplish this

I like the lights that come on when the door ON THAT SIDE is opened...not a fan of lights most kids put under the car to leave on.

I found that exact pdf and ask the question on post if anyone had done it. Does pin 17 provide consent power enough for them grid you use it to trigger a relay tied to other power. This is my exact plan. Glad to have found you and any help would be great

I’m unsure how difficult it would be to get to that pin but it might be worth taking a test light to it and see if it’s always powered or powered when door opens etc
