I'm just saying the person who posted that their dealership got parts and "fixed" the brake recall on their car may not know that what they're saying cannot be factual. They may have misunderstood their dealer about what recall was fixed, or their dealer might be lying to them. I don't think someone should feel unwelcome here because the people running their dealership are idiots.

Now, if they are making stuff up about the recall then they can f**k right off.

Most likely relaying what the sales bozos at the dealer told them.

Just want to clarify that being a Badlands does not automatically mean it is equipped with an electric brake booster. Not sure if that's what you meant.
No, the recall "notice" that people were posting about stated that it was the 1.5L engine that was affected, but the Badlands has the 2.0L. ?‍♂

I see that now, thanks for the clarification. I'm curious why it would be limited to the 1.5L models. I would've thought the same vacuum brake booster assembly would be used for either engine.

Maybe the Badlands and First Edition have the "missing" vacuum sensor? The NHTSA and Ford aren't very forthcoming with any detailed information about exactly what is involved and the differences between them all.

You can check recall information at nhtsa.gov, I just viewed the recall information for the BS.
There are currently 6 recalls for the BS.
1. Reduced braking performance
2. Inadequate bonding on moonroof glass panel
3. Fuel delivery module may leak
4. Incorrect front lower control arms
5. Missing or loose rear suspension bolts.
6. Inadequate lubrication in rear drive unit.

There is a lot of documentation that goes into detail about what the issues are, what models are affected and what the resolution is/will be.

Ford nor the NHTSA have issued stop driving orders for any BS. All you can do is wait and see if you get a notice telling you your vehicle is affected. If you feel your vehicle exhibits unsatisfactory operation relating to any of the recall campaigns I would contact your dealership.

This is what I saw that someone posted and it states 1.5L as the affected engine.
This notice ALSO says front brake pad replacement, despite notices on both Ford's and NHTSA's websites indicating the fix will involve replacing the rear brake pads. It seems to me we are not going to know anything for sure until Ford and the NHTSA reach accord on the resolution.

It almost seems like the NHTSA is saying one thing is wrong in the recall and Ford is saying that they are going to fix something else instead. Front brake pads do make more sense though since they are the ones that do most of the braking. Guess we will all have to wait and see what the final outcome will be. ?‍♂

The Ford notice states that any BS built up to Nov 16 and in dealer inventory, which seems to include demonstrators and inventory and customer ordered vehicles must not be delivered or driven. Is this accurate?
Seems to me a question of which brakes are involved, is a bit irrelevant if your new..built after Nov 16, BS is sitting somewhere with a big " DO NOT DRIVE , 21C31 " sign on it.
Yes, if you already have yours, built before Nov 16, you have not been told not to drive it. Yet.
But how many BS are stuck in this non-deliver situation?
Or is my reading of the situation incorrect?

Yes, this is accurate. By law, no vehicle can be delivered with an accurate recall.

Only vehicle built before November 16th are involved. If a vehicle built after November 16th is sitting it is for some other reason.

The NHTSA and Ford have stated that as long as the vacuum brake booster hasn't failed, then the vehicle can be driven. But again, since a problem was discovered and a recall issued, the Highway Safety Law kicks in and any vehicle that has not been delivered can not be sold until the problem is remedied.

This occurred last year with a FDM (Fuel Distribution Module) recall in July 2021 where a bunch of Bronco Sports were already sitting at the factory from June of 2021 waiting for chips (Restraint Control Module). Mine was one of these - also now known as "the lot rot". The chip module wasn't installed until October 2021 and then had to wait until November 2021 for the recall part to become available. Mine was finally delivered on December 9, 2021 - 7 months after being built.

Unfortunately for some of us from the "Lot Rot" group - they hadn't yet received their vehicles after the FDM recall was completed when the brake recall came out so now they are waiting on that too.
