Key fob lost, need to replace

I just lost my key fob (not exactly lost, fell out of my pocket while mowing the lawn and I went over it on the next pass) . So what is the least expensive way to replace? Can I just get a aftermarket replacement and then how do I program it? I have read that you can add a third fob fair easily but seems you need to have two working fobs already. My car is a 2023 BS heritage limited edition. Someone here must have had the same issue (less the mower part).

You might try an independent key shop — most offer fobs and programing. I’ve even seen a mobile one affiliated with Costco, and that’s all he did was sell fobs and program them. The independents would certainly be cheaper than Ford.

I wouldn't go for the key or rental coverage but I'd go with the lighting coverage.
