I agree with everyone else on getting a second opinion. Take it to a trans shop, that does nothing but transmissions.

The dealer is usually the most expensive place to get repairs done. Once the warranty is done, I can't see any reason to take it to a dealer, unless you can't find a repair shop that can fix it. The Sports get totaled with relatively minor damage, so there should be good transmissions at junk yards. I had to have my Jeep tranny rebuilt and it cost around $4,000.

Turbo intercooled engines need more frequent spark plug changes then non turbo engines. Misfire could be spark plugs and coil insulators need replaced. So misfire might not be a major engine issue at all.

I am dumb founded as to why it was taken to a Ford dealer out of warranty? In nearly all cases like the absolute worst place to go.

You did not mention how much ongoing preventative maintenance you have done, but if you haven't, at 102k miles your original plugs and coils are certainly shot so of course it's misfiring. A DIY mechanic can change them out in less than an hour easy on these vehicles and it is a cheap fix. Do that first, then see how it runs... and yes, get other quotes and estimates.

I had maintained regularly…oil changes, breaks, but at 100k miles I decided it needed a proper inspection and all needed fluid flushes if needed…dealers told me that I would probably need a diagnostic done, as well, the diagnostic will tell them if there was any problems. It was the waiting list they had that ran into the next year. After I made the appointment and the wait between then and the appointment was when I started to notice these issues. I guess I kind jinx myself. But I’m currently getting a 2nd opinion as I’m to typing this…my Shadow (bronco’s name) is in the shop.
