Had my 2021 Area 51 BS BL with ebony/roast seating since mid December and put ~ 2600km on it so far.
YET, starting to feel like the honeymoon is over already. Looking around at full size Broncos as a replacement for a few reasons: 1) more interior space, 2) bigger cargo area, 3) more towing capacity (which provides more options), and, 4) bigger engine(s).

Anyone else felt this way? I've seen a few on here that already have made the move.

Here's my BS BL window sticker details:

Thinking of a full size Outer Banks replacement.
I added an extra 3 yr warranty as well for a total of 6yr, 120000km full coverage.
Any thoughts from those who have made the move? Were your expectations met, or, was there disappointment?

After driving a full size at the Off-Roadeo I definitely see one in my future, but I'm in no rush. Between the parts delays and quality issues with hardtops (a must for me) I think I'll drive my BS for another year or two before making the jump.

Our plan is to keep the bs until the bronco is out for a year or two then trade up. Put 3100km’s on it in 3 weeks, love it so far and am really impressed off road. I know the full size will be that much better because bigger tires will fit. My one complaint is the size of the fender wells. Wife won’t let me start cutting on it to mount 35’s or even 33’s?
Full size? Samsquanch to start with then up from there??

Nope, not me. This is my daily driver, so fuel mileage is important to me. I opted for the Bronco Sport primarily because I get most of the full-size Bronco's off-road capability while cutting acquisition/operating costs by some 40% (my estimate). I estimate on-road vs off-road use at 98% vs 2%, so I couldn't justify the additional fuel and environmental cost of the larger Bronco for the 2% of the time I might need its better off-road capability.

i'll agree with @Mark S.
daily driver here, and weekend camper in summer. although now that we have a cane corso puppy, we are realizing we need more space haha. i think the only way i'd buy a new full size bronco is if i won the lottery. but really, the sport does everything we ask of it. we plan to keep for the long haul.

The sport is small but you would think ppl would know that going in and not get wound up in the hype? But high resale so if appeal wears off can get a lot of money back out.

completely agree with this. Of course everyone’s needs will be different, but I will be driving mine for many years. I came to my badlands from an old Jeep that averaged about 16mpg. With the way fuel prices are trending, I am never going back to that world. I felt like I was just throwing money away for literally no reason. Even if you have the money to spare, this is just senseless to me.

had to go to Chicago last week and gas was over $4 for regular in downtown. So the BS Badlands is about the lowest fuel economy I will stomach these days. I have several hobbies that I like to be able to save for and enjoy comfortably. Visiting the gas station is not one of them and is directly at odds with my other life goals.

Big bronco is gorgeous. But I'm waiting for a hybrid version before I seriously consider it. The thing is just too much of a pig for my driving needs.
This is what I wonder about these kinds of cars. If you’re in an area where gas isn’t cheap and not getting more affordable, it it worth it to have a car that’s designed to go off roading when what you’re doing is driving in the suburban areas 95% of the time?

A hybrid motor would be a nice way to bridge that gap.

In more rural areas, I totally understand the appeal. Still wouldnt be my choice though. The Badlands checks the boxes I have. Its a trail car not a rock crawler and thats what I want.

I can understand the want. Every time I see the ā€˜big’ one running around town (or the latest in fashion vehicles it seems, the defender) I wonder if getting the ā€˜real’ one wasn’t maybe a better idea. But not for my use case. With primarily urban/city driving, the sport is just a really nice size for that especially when it’s just me & the dog. I’m trading out of my current car because it’s a size bigger than I want for those uses, so getting into a full-size is just a size bigger than I need/want. Plus as others have mentioned, they’re not exactly cheap. I’m far enough north that the top/doors coming off is all too rare. That can come later when I’m retired & spending winters down in the desert.

I saw some moron driving one with the top down in 40° weather thinking he looked cool. I usually honk for all broncos but I couldn't stop laughing cause it didn't look like he even got it all the way down. Looked like it was pointing straight up.

On the subject of am I over the honeymoon, absolutely not! I bought what I wanted. But it surprises me how there's so many people who just don't do enough research before spending money.
