I could be wrong (I often am), but I don't think a powered liftgate is in the future for the Bronco Sport. The hardware for a powered liftgate add weight, and most of it will be at the hinge. This is a relatively tall vehicle, and any weight added up top makes the vehicle more prone to rollover. That's why the dynamic limits for weight on the roof are so low for the Bronco Sport.
The kits I've seen like this one : https://www.autoease.com/product/liftgate/ don't look like they'd weigh so much that it'd cause driving stability issues. They have kits for all kinds of vehicles. I'd wager the Bronco doesn't have the feature because of costs rather than can't.

Just picked up my '23 OBX. It has a tailgate release button next to the light switch.

I was wondering is there a way to open the liftgate from the inside and get out of the car thru the liftgate if I sleep in back of the Bronco Sport? I have the button to unlock liftgate by my lights and I of course can unlock it by my key buttons. I of course can open and go out my rear passenger doors but would like to go out the back liftgate. So I can unlock but havent found way to open liftgate from inside. Thanks

My '23 Big Bend has the release by the headlight switch.

The liftgate button is deleted in my '22 Big Bend. But I'll also mention that it took me almost 4 years before I discovered there was an interior trunk release in my '14 Fusion. I guess Ford likes to keep me guessing!

I have a 22 big bend. Why is it that there is an intelligent key fob release for the glass but NOT the hatch/door? What am I missing? I hate having to unlock the doors using the key fob before opening the rear lift gate.

It's likely you are experiencing one of the known issues; that is the liftgate doesn't unlock with fob. I believe the fix is to press the liftgate unlock button three times in a row, but search through the forum to confirm.

Unfortunately that didn’t work for me. I’ll search the forum again.

SSM 50452 2021-2022 Bronco Sport Liftgate Passive Entry Is Inoperative

Some 2021-2022 Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with passive entry system may experience a condition where the liftgate passive entry feature is inoperative. This may occur if the user inadvertently presses the liftgate button on the passive key fob once and then presses the exterior liftgate release switch, causing the liftgate passive entry feature to become inoperative. To correct this condition, press the liftgate button twice on the passive key fob to restore the liftgate passive entry feature functionality.

Thanks Barry and Dude, that seemed to reset the button and it works again! I guess this is one of those bugs that we have to live with…
