I know the BS only has a 4-pin because of the tow rating, but itās hard to find any trailerāeven within the BSās tow limitsāthat doesnāt come with 7-pin connectors standard.Im itching to try one of those 7 pin Maverick harnesses
Thanks, there sure is a lot to think about.Check out the Autowbrake, mentioned in the Maverick forum: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/hybrid-maverick-towing-how-to-convert-4-pin-to-7-pin-with-a-brake-controller-no-truck-alterations-required.34476/
I don't believe it is model specific. I say that because it doesn't just plug in. You need to splice wires but this is the only oem wiring harness ford offers for the sport.Based on what you're relaying, either the harness isn't truly model-specific, but more a generic harness, or if it is model-specific, then the dealer doesn't know what they're talking about when it comes to functionality.
In other words, if the harness sold and installed by the dealer is truly the same harness that would be installed at the factory, then the same functions and options should be available assuming the dealer knows how to enable them.
I'll defer to @rugedraw for his opinion.
I'm not sure if a trailer light tester would work or not. I could try it on my wife's bronco sport outer banks. She has the factory hitch. My badlands doesn't and I'm looking to add it.do you think if I plug in the trailer light tester It would be a viable option to test this theory?
I donāt have a trailer to plug into. On my lunch break Iāll give it a shot. Considering I did absolutely nothing with forscan Iād be surprised if anything automatically happens
