Other than the missing parts (passenger side under dash panel, hood insulation), my BB is performing excellently. I just passed 3k miles with no issues whatsoever. In my opinion, the fit and finish is about the best of any of my past 4 vehicles in the last 15 years, all Fords as well and l haven't noticed the interior imperfections mentioned previously. Maybe the big wigs were at the plant the day it was built, I don't know, but I am very happy with it thus far. Now, if you want to talk cheap construction, I bought a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner, my first new car, when I was 20. A 383, 4sp, 391 posi, no power steering, no ac, bench seat, strictly a go fast in a straight line car that had the cheapest plastic interior components, cheap vinyl, vibrations that made your teeth rattle, but I didn't care a lick about any of that because it was fun as hell to drive!

In December 2020 I pickup up a Shadow black Base model.
Not a single problem, not a single miss fitted part.
I rate the fit and finish at 100% perfect.
Now at 20,000 miles and 18 months of ownership I’m still at 100%.

Thank you all for the great responses.

My biggest peeve is rattles. The dash on my 2019 Escape, specifically the area above the screen where the center speaker is located, has a habit of rattling. The plastic in that area isn’t the best quality and is a little loose. The top of the dash has multiple pieces of plastic stuck together so it was bound to happen. Probably bad design.

My 2016 Fusion, which was assembled at the same plant as the Bronco Sport, didn’t have any rattles at all.

I get rattling if I don’t have something in the cup holder properly snug, but that’s about it. It’s got 1k miles three weeks in due to fiancé traveling across the country for his job, and he says the truck is dandy and kicking ass getting him to where he has to go.

My Outer Banks built 12/23/21, is very well built and far exceeded my expectations. I will admit I was concerned of build quality so close to Christmas, but turned out completely unfounded. Paint, panel gaps, upholstery, functionality are all near flawless. My build was delayed twice, but squeaked through between recalls, had no excessive shipping delays. Other than the already mentioned missing parts (dealer ordered & gave me the missing under dash panel), mine is an example of why the assembly plant won the award. No rattles, squeaks of any kind. I’ve only had it since 1/31/22 & just about 3k miles, so time will tell. The only thing thus far I don’t care for with my BS is the large key fob.

My 2021 BS BL has a build date of 12/2020 and I currently have 23k miles on her. Besides the paint defects (that the dealer wouldn't do anything about) I have no complaints. The vehicle has exceeded my expectations and I'm looking for some new adventures this summer ??

Being we get a new him or her car every year or two. Also the fact we buy primarily German and Japanese. The fit and finish on our 22 Badlands is very good. I give it a 10 out of 10. Our 2020 Mercedes GLB we just traded wasn't nearly as well assembled as our Ford. Both built in Mexico for reference. Paint is excellent, panel gaps are precise, and it rolls down the road way quieter too. Less rattles.

I have just over 4,000 miles on mine. Body and interior fit and finish excellent. Body gaps and body fitment excellent. I do see scrape on one rear interior door panel (grand daughter is the suspect) and some lite scratches in rear area (suspect wife). But interior scratches expected based on others feedback I am not too concerned there at this point.

A few times heard lite rattle in head liner behind sun roof but after 5 minutes of driving it would go away. That happened several times but not lately. Heard some interior rattle front pass side once went away never came back. Vast majority of time zero interior rattles.

Have not had any issues with the paint chipping. To date zero paint chips none.

Just did a 160 mile each way road trip and vehicle was excellent great drive. Was quiet smooth everything working great.

So far so good.

Fit and finish were fine. No paint chips. No weird dash rattles. Biggest 'quality issues' on my MY21 Big Bend:

(1) Unresolved groaning/brrrrr noise from the transmission at low speeds. Dealership mechanics said this was unsurprising given their experience with other Ford transmissions, specifically late model F-150s. Hopefully my MY22 Badlands does not have this. Did not impact performance as far as I could tell.

(2) Interior plastics scratched easily and probably won't last as long as my old Toyota's. The B.S. looks rugged inside, but the materials strike me as especially cheap, and I'd be surprised if they hold up with sun exposure + wear and tear.

11/11/21 build date on BS BL. It rattles and buzzes. Front dash, a pillars, roof. The leather seats feel cheap. Ford dealer techs are suspect. I like the vehicle, but don’t think it’ll be as solid as my jeep or Toyota were after 3 years.

Everyone keeps saying body gaps are perfect. But my hood is unaligned. My driver front door is unaligned.. my back glass is about a 1/16 in to the left... ive read of a bunch of people with gap issues.. i feel like just because people own the car they just defend it...

im very pleased. 9/10

I’ve noticed the hood thing but it’s very minimal

to Be fair and subjective… I’d need to drive a new Jeep, Subaru or Rav to compare and I haven’t .
My wife drives a newer (2020) Rav4, I'll look forward to comparing them when my BS arrives.

I believe you that some have panel alignment issues and other ppl will say Ford can do no wrong when in fact they mess up some times. Quality Control at factory should have flagged and corrected those body gap/alignment issues. But body gaps panel alignment on mine are excellent. I would have rejected it at delivery otherwise.

If i would have ordered it and waited months then i would not have taken delivery.. but i found on a lot at msrp with 500 rebate and 500 cash back. So its ok.....
