I know it's not supposed to be a top end sports car, But I am actually kind of SURPRISED by how it handles, than again
I don't drive much like a maniac, so what you're about to see may not come as surprising, but for a heavy SUV it takes corners very well, guess it did put the
"Sport" in Bronco Sport.

I always worry one may lose control if they're too risky sometimes.

(Video doesn't belong to me, it's just an example)

Personally handles well for a midsize/compact SUV. I felt safe winter driving, on the highways, does whatever I need. Headed north in a couple weeks to test it out and see what it can do

I have a Badlands with larger tires, on mountain road twisties at a sporty pace it leans too much, also it doesn't turn into corners well unless you trail brake into them, at least that's my experience.
If driven at a normal pace it's not nearly as bad though still a bit tippy.
Back in the day when full size vans were popular I had a Chevy G10 short wheel base van that I lowered, it had Koni shocks and sticky tires on minilite wheels all around and a 350 V8 with some intake and exhaust work. On twisty roads you could make people in sports cars think they were pulling a trailer, they couldn't get away, the van handled really well. I'd like to build another, mine was like an early version Dajiban, it was fun.

Badlands stock suspension with Falken AT Trail tires.

For on pavement handling , just like RSH has mentioned, it needs to be driven like a typical front wheel drive car. Trail brake into the corner and it will turn …OK. Lack of feedback from the suspension since it is tuned toward off road. I’m guessing the initial compression stroke damping is… well, soft. I don’t think it is leaning too much. Also, steering is tuned fairly quick and sensitive. It isn’t the slowest car in the twisties.

I’m always curious what if a Badlands has OBX tires and wheels. Would the lower profile rubber make some difference??

Also, what if it has Flatout suspension lift kit?? How would it handled on the road???

I guess it always be some give or take on the suspension setup. It is very hard to do two extreme situations well.

All engineering solutions entail a tradeoff of some sort or another. I believe Ford got the balance right with the Badlands. It'll go places most vehicles in its class can't, and you can drive long hours comfortably on the highway getting to those trailheads.

It handles well for what it is, but coming from a an FBO suspension on my Mustang (strut bar, lowering springs, sway bars, shocks, irs stiffening, etc), I have had to learn to adjust. It's def not a sports car. There is a lot of understeer in this vehicle in comparison.

I have 245 KO2's on my BL and just say handles adequately. I've been in sharp curves with bumps and had it skip on me. I guess the solution to that is to slow down.

The car is surprisingly good at high, highway speeds. Nice and stable, quiet, actually reminiscent of the Germans I drive.

Around town it’s a bit of a boat but that’s expected.

After two years I’m pretty happy with the handling. BL BS with Pirelli Scorpions. Decent highway, corners well on my tight winding 45 mph commute, and handles deep sand superbly when deflated (@15 mph!).

I went from a Ford Edge SEL to the Sport OB. Every day I think to myself how great the OB handles and how tight it turns. I love the way it handles ....the only mod I have is 245/60-18 BFG Trail Terrains.

I like the handling. With the IRS it does corner well. One must respect the CG being higher off the ground than a sports car.

I blame the soft seats with no bolsters for it feeling like it doesn't handle well. I also don't like the amount of understeer it has, but the suspesion stays surprizingly stable without much body roll, even with the extra 1" lift I have on mine.
