2022 big bend with the same hood deflector. No issues with random warnings.
Same here with one installed on an Outer Banks BS.

I have a 22 bb with the same hood deflector, never had any false alerts or trouble codes, have you noted any other abnormalities? There have been plenty of mentions of battery related electrical issues, if you keep having these issues, you can have any auto parts place load test your battery for free, you may be experiencing early signs of this issue

Thanks worth a look. I haven’t had any other issues but my past 2 Explorers both had issues where they would go into battery save mode and shut down most systems including FordPass connections until the next time The vehicle was started.

The hood deflector has no impact on the collision sensor otherwise it would not be a Ford authorized part.
I wonder if there is a sensitivity calibration on these systems, needed due to tolerance in the sensors and other electronics in the system.

Maybe a call to the dealership will inform you better......

Not an owner just yet.
I'm just making myself aware of the problems with this car before I get my '24 BS BL in a few months. My order has been placed. Even the dealer's don't know when production of the '24s commences.

Just remember to specifically request a load test, this is different from a standard battery test and tests the batteries ability to keep up with power draw, an issue from a battery ln this form can result in flickering lights, hard starting, no starts, warning codes, safety system failure codes such as the code you are experiencing, it is the unfortunate side effects of having all these computers in cars now, they don't get enough power, they start to malfunction, this is true for all brands

I tried contacting Ford Customer Assistance, Heard back from a Rep who "had the file put on her desk this morning" and her position was if the dealership said it was the hood deflector then that is end of story. So no help there, but she did say under warranty I could take it to a 2nd dealership for a second opinion. My appointment is for next wednesday.

In the meantime I tried an experiment:

I covered the windshield camera with tape to see what would happen. When I started the car in the driveway I got the notice that the pre-collision system was not available.
Taking a drive around and viewing the system on the dashboard MyVIew screen it showed that the lane keeping system was not working as it did not pick up the center or right lane markings. After driving for about 5-10 minutes it finally alerted me to the fact that the camera had low visibility.
THE PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM STILL WORKED!!! It showed when it was reading a car in front of me, showed me when I was too close, and ALERTED ME to a possible crash situation.

That means to me that the camera is not needed for the pre-collision alert system to work, instead the radar sensor in the front bumper is the device that makes it work,
and thus saying the hood detector is interfering with the camera and the system is incorrect. It worked with the camera completely covered.

Well done! This means the bug deflector has no effect

Latest update:

2nd dealer checked pre-collision system and found nothing that would cause the system to shut down and me getting the alert that it is not available. They did find a software update to a module that while not part of the pre-collision system it does interact with the same hardware. That update changed nothing.

Since Ford Customer Assistance was unwilling to have dealer one look for additional possible causes because they were absolutely sure it was the hood deflector I decided to remove the hood detector.
Nope not the problem!!!
I went immediately to dealer #1 and the Sevice Manager was walking through the parking lot. Stopped him and relayed that now the deflector is off and no remedy to the problem.

On my way home I stopped at a body shop our dealership delivers parts to and uses for body repairs to get their opinion on a way to remove the adhesive tape the deflector left behind. Their in house system calibrator was on vacation and they had an outside company there doing some work for them. He was nice enough to connect his scanner to my vehicle and when the alert appeared he said the system had lost connection to the radar sensor behind the front bumper. So it appears there is a fault in the system, read that as a wiring issue, that cuts response to the radar sensor and then comes back then goes out again and on and on.

I am waiting for Ford Customer Service to call me this morning as a follow up to the case, as they said they would, to persue further investigation, and I am going to question them again for possible reimbursement for the deflector.

Sorry for the long posts but hopefully it will assist someone in the future if this happens to their vehicle.

Glad you found the issue, please keep us updated, would love to know how it came about, and if/how you get it resolved, don't apologize for the long posts, it's helpful to everyone else to keep us informed on potential issues, causes, and remedies

Final update: (hopefully)

Dealer #1 took another look at my vehicle since I removed the hood deflector and that wasn't the problem. The technician found a wiring harness connector that had loose or faulty connector pins. He tested it and it passed, wiggled it and it didn't pass, etc. etc. They ordered a new wiring harness, put me in a loaner car, and replaced the faulty harness when the new one arrived. One week later I have not gotten any alerts that the pre-collision system is not available.

Hopefully solved ??

p.s. never knew the front end came off as one piece!!! (see attached picture)
