So in December I was involved in an accident and it broke my left headlight assembly. My Bronco Sport is a 2021 Big Bend Edition and the only thing stopping me from getting my truck back is the left headlight assembly is on back order from Ford to the tune of 752 units and Ford claims they have no idea when they'll get these units in so what am I supposed to do Ford leave my truck at the body shop until you get off your hind end and get more? Am I angry and disgruntled? You best believe it, my truck has been in the body shop since Dec 14 2022 yet FOMOCO still wants me to make my payments, does anyone have one of these assemblies laying around or know of an aftermarket company that makes them? Thank you for any and all help!

Your best bet is to look for a salvage yard online that has one. There are totaled ones out there. There might even be one right here in the forum, but he's waiting for insurance to decide.

Agree with checking salvage yards. Unfortunately, it’s the world we live in today. My wife’s HRV was damaged last year and the body shop had to search the entire USA for the many of the parts. They said it was pretty common nowadays. They ran edit could take months just to get parts. We agreed to using used parts as the car is 6 years old and she didn’t want to wait months.

You're likely SOL if you've gone through insurance. I doubt they'd allow the install or a used or aftermarket part during the repair process because if it fails, the liability could fall on them to replace or repair once again. Probably not what you want to hear, but you're stuck waiting.

Maybe the body shop will release it if you bring them a headlight. They could keep the order for a new headlight, which you would get installed when it comes in and you sell the used headlight once that happens.

The insurance companies are now allowing used parts to be used on repairs. It was our decision to make. We chose to use “used” parts to expedite the repair.

This. I'm sure your insurance agent would buy into this. I'm glad I bought rental car insurance with my policy...that would help the agent agree to a good quality used unit.
