Initially I was a bit confused why I seemed to have the 3D view option but not the “Asks Maps” button?

After a bit of digging around apparently the new “3D Maps” option and the “ask maps” Ai assisted map search are rolling out separately with the 3D maps feature likely showing up first. At this time it’s only rolling out to the US and India. The cities with the 3D Immersive view for routes initially are what you might expect, NY, LA, SF, San Jose, Vegas, Miami, Seattle. Other cities will get a 3D view similar to Google earth apparently.

A little off topic but, When I get in my 2025 BB, the phone automatically connects and Google Maps is automatically displayed. I cant figure out how to try Waze. Does anyone have a suggestion or, should I just stay on topic?

My 2025 BB automatically opens up the last map app I used, or at least that's what Apple CarPlay does. If I want to use another app, I just select it on CarPlay, and it opens the next time I start the car.

Google Maps update rollout in Canada hasn’t been announced yes … so you might not be on the right version, does your Google Maps screen show a dedicated "Ask Maps" button directly beneath the search bar, allowing you to ask conversational, Al-powered questions about places or plans?

I just updated Google Maps a couple days ago, and I don't have the "Ask Maps" button.

We'll be the last place on Earth to get it.

Google Maps on CarPlay looks same as before, do not see updated features

I don't have it yet either. They could do a better job of making it clear when it will be available.

I still have one also. Plus a Next Exit spiral bound that lists what gas stations, food outlets, etc. are at each exit of all the U.S. interstates.

I just updated mine to the newest version on the app store (26.12.2). No "Ask Maps" or other cool stuff.

Anyone know what version has these new features?

Edit: never mind. Not available in my country yet.

Ask Maps showed up a day or so ago, per the Apple App Store version history, was Google Maps 26.11.1.
