cannot say i came from a lower trim BS but when i was looking the Badlands was all or nothing for me. the 2.0 was the decider. i test drove both escape and BS in 1.5 and 2.0 and overwhelmingly preferred the 2.0 for its power and overall feel. the other "bits" that came with the Badlands were a bonus.... im always kidding the wife about driving thru the field to get to a place we want to go just to see what it does.... she says i would be trespassing (and she would be right) but i tell her its a short cut.
my supervisor just bought a used 22 Big Bend for his daughter. they liked the look of mine so much when i bought it they started looking. asked me about any issues and i told him all the recalls (which he looked up) and found one that had all the corrections. so far he is happy with it.
another happy BS customer!

enjoy!

My Badlands has taken me everywhere I've wanted to go. On desert roads with steep banked arroyos a good approach and departure angle makes all the difference. I have ripped the carpet off the bottom driver's side twice, so I ordered the metal skid plates. Last week, it was on a rutted 3" & 4" gravel road where the rocks in the center were dragging. I still haven't gotten a lift, but I will.

The "luxury" features of the OBX are not necessarly a huge step up comfort wise from the Badlands.
The Badlands more than makes up for it's perceived less luxurious features with the much better drivetrain and other added items that make up the Badlands package that everyone wants to add to the other models anyway,
The only thing the Badlands lacks compared to the other models is fuell mileage, and it isn't that much less.
I drove all the other models and for me it was no contest, the Badlands was the best of the bunch.

I agree for the most part, but I acknowledge this depends on your priorities. I want the off-road capability; my wife wants the luxury.

Yes totally agree with you on the mix , my first edition is a mix of OBX and badlands so I was told ,but for some strange reason it did not have the assist cruise or the back seat storage. It does have the regular cruise. All is good .

Similar trajectory for me. I originally had a 21 OBX and loved everything about it except for the engine. Traded it in for a 23 Badlands and now it has everything o want with only exception of no Adaptive Cruise. Could have tried harder to find one with copilot + but the timing and price were right so I pulled the trigger without it. Glad you’re also digging your Badlands!
My 23 Bandlands has the adaptive cruise control.

But maybe that came with the Premium Package or the Sync + (or whatever it's called)?

You don't have the storage bin under the rear seat?

Yes, you only get that with copilot +, which my vehicle unfortunately does not have.
