Totally valid concern. In my leaf, if you run out of charge, no one can bring a "can of electricity" to you to get you enough juice to get home. You have to get the expensive tow. Its going to be awhile before you can really use any type of off road electric vehicle to truly go overlanding.
LOL'd at 'can of electricity'.

I mean when someone does come up with some type of portable quick charger for EVs that can provide 20-30 miles of charge, I would imagine there are Lightning, Rivian, Hummer EV owners out there who would shell out for it.

I know the F-150 Lightning is already designed to share charge with another electric vehicle. Although, I can’t imagine I would be too eager to give away my charge when out in the boonies.
