The hassle of Fords lack of quality continues. We have a 2021 BS with the 1.5 It has a crack in the flex pipe in the convertors. This went in to the dealer at 75K miles and they wont cover it. I spoke with Ford and asked about the 80K emisions warranty. They said if its the convertor it should be covered. Back to the dealer. So for the emissions warranty to cover it the car must be throwing a code saying the convertor is bad. So its ok to fill the cabin with fumes as long as it doesnt throw a code. On top of that the car at low rpms either cant figure out what gear it wants to be in or is sputtering and really isnt enjoyble to drive at all. Anyone else having the exhaust leak issue. For the rought acceleration Im going to try to change the spark plugs for kicks. Highly doubt it will fix anything.

We have exhaust leak coming from catalytic converter, give it 5 seconds to heat up and it stops. It’s just one issue in a long line of problems. Axle is clunking drivers side, battery had to be replaced, water pump had to be replaced. Honestly biggest pos I’ve ever owned.my opinion.

I'd be thinking...what's next? I'd dump it.

It’s already on its way, daughter wants a little suv, buying Honda that’s built in USA, getting rid of bronco sport built in Mexico. Quality or American jobs is not Fords priority. Been Ford man all my life, can’t say that any more.

I was told my cat was clogged that created a crack in the converter. They replaced the front cat assembly and both sensors. Car now shifts hard and today it wouldn’t go into reverse. Tried to drive home and it wouldn’t go into overdrive. Had to pull over because of the high rpm’s. Towed back to dealership.

This is more an issue with the repair mechanic that did the work on the exhaust and not Ford's quality control. I'm also puzzled as to how a plugged cat (exhaust) can cause a crack in the torque converter.

While Ford will ultimately take blame, I also cannot see that "The hassle of Fords lack of quality continues" is responsible for a mechanics repair at a local dealership.

I see in quite a few threads and posts here that mechanics at local Ford dealerships are causing Ford's reputation as a manufacturer to take hits on their quality.

Hope someone from Ford monitors these sites.

Our cat was cracked then a separate issue was that the torque convertor went. We had an extended warranty that would cover a new convertor/trans. Ford and the dealer decided to rebuild the old one with different parts over a new ORM part. That was $900 more than the new OEM parts. Ford ended up covering that extra $900. A pain and it took a month to repair but at least they covered the difference. Then not putting a new OEM part in makes me think there will me more of these issues for people. We have 107k miles on our 21 so yes it’s crazy high miles for what it is. The torque convertor went at 95k miles. We had to pay for the catalytic convertor because it passed an tailipe emission test when it was cracked. ?

Thanks for clearing up the cat and torque converter misunderstanding. Helps me, but not you. Can't say I blame you for having a sour taste on the whole deal you have been run through.

but its nice to look at!

i told my wife, well before we purchased it that, we should probably enjoy it while we can, because "its a ford". Sorry never been a ford guy, but i do love this thing, just hate to be right about my bias.

i believe that. Quality in service in general in every field has hit rock bottom So just by extrapolation it effects everything. I imagine the same for doctors and teachers.

No it’s fords quality now ours is undriveable, put it in drive it might be in reverse, put it in park might be reverse or drive. Driving 70 down road and it downshift and redlines while throwing you towards windshield. Honestly we have a very expensive lawn art. It needs better part of 3-4 k worth of repairs and it has never been off road and less than 100k miles. Say what you will but it qualifies for pos.
