Were the plugs changed?
They did not*
I changed the plugs yesterday and they were covered in carbon but definitely not terrible. Since the transmission flush, torque converter stabilizer, and now spark plug replacement the car has been driving much smoother. I don't know if this is more of a bandaid than a repair but it's stopped the symptoms for now at least. As for the rear dif I can definitely hear what the mechanic was talking about but it hasn't affected driving at all so until I can save up to replace it it'll have to last

Yes your spark plugs were past their time. However, the real cause of your stated issue was torque converter shudder which is very common with the 8F35 transmission.

I have had torque converter shudder issues for the past 50,000 miles. I am currently at 162,000. Right now, the vehicle is running like a champ. But I know that the shudder will come back and I know how to address the issue.

Dealers are misdiagnosing the issue. Few dealers have really good transmission technicians. The good ones always leave to make more money in an independent shop.
