Discoloration above headlights

Si I was installing the Steeda tower brace today and noticed the grey plastic trim over the headlights are discolored terrible. Anyone else see this? I’ve tried several cleaners but nothing is touching it.

It's not exposed to the sun so it can't be sun damage. I wonder if it's from not cleaning the jambs enough. Do you clean them at all? Every time I wash the car, I make sure to open the hood and dry out the seeping water inside the jambs and over the engine itself so they don't clog up with dirt and debris. If they don't get cleaned, it'll more than likely damage the finish especially without any type of protection.

You could try for a warranty replacement if it bothers you.

Me? I'd mask it off and spray some Kyron plastic paint on it (black) since it would not be worth losing the vehicle for a day or two without a loaner.

Weatherstrip rubbing in that area? Not sure if one is present there.

Hard to see in that photo. But it is the whole top of that plastic trim piece changing colors.

Have you tried rubbing your finger on it? I just checked mine and it looked a lot like yours. On mine it's just a bit of grime that rubbed off on my finger. Maybe try wiping it with a damp cloth?

EDIT: Nevermind, I just saw that you already tried cleaning it...
