How about a little context for this puff PR piece? Let's see how Ford inital quality compares to its two main rivals, Chevy and Ram. See the attached graph.

Ford Bronco Sport Bronco Sport named best small SUV for initial quality in J.D. Power 2024 U.S. Initial Quality Study 2024-JD-Power-Initial-Quality-Study-IQS-US-Chevrolet-Second-Plac

My jaw dropped when I read this initially. Hope it sticks.

I've owned two new BL's and never had to return either to a dealership for repairs. Recently had the BCM/PCM update installed by Mobiltech. A sample of two doesn't mean anything statistically, but it means a lot to me. I'm completely satisfied with my BL experiences.

I've had a ridiculous number of cars since the mid 70s and I just don't see it. Over the year plus that I've had this BS, I've read a lot of legitimate complaints right here on this forum.
I happen to like my car, but it's (sadly) far from 'the best' SUV I've ever owned or driven. On a few levels.

They (JD Power) didn't check with me. 1 month ownership BL:
1. Engine oil consumtion .5 qt in 600 mi.
2. Car lost forward propulsion turning left 2 times, and going up a hill several more.
3. Sun Visors mounts detach from metal roof when moving to side, leaving them dangling by wire.
4. Plastic trim that easily falls off (like the interior tailgate latch cover.)
5. Driver and passenger seat cusion torn from screws protruding into the foam and the foam collapsing such that the seat back gear is exposed and butt sits on seat frame.
6. Loose radio antenna.
7. Warning light for air bag.
8. Recall for battery.
9. Start/stop malfunction warnign light and (thankfully, doesn't work.)
10. Transmission wont' shift to correct gear. (Doesn't seem to be a 3rd gear at all, at least one that is any different from 2nd.)

Has been at dealer for over 40 days with no loaner. Ford won't provide a rental due to dealer not providing correct repair authorizion etc...

Great concept, poorly designed components to cut costs, poorly built due to cheap parts.

Tesla is at bottom of list, but everyone I know loves their's and has never been mistreated by the dealer and the company alike.

Can't a beyond frustrated guy rant a little without making total sense...!? Purchase a 2023 BS BL in April '24, waited 3 weeks to drop off due to no service available mid May. Still at dealer service July 1.

I was amazed how many issues you had in just 30 days!! That’s crazy!

how many miles was on the vehicle when you bought it?

#10 probably not a real issue, see https://www.broncosportforum.com/forum/threads/the-oddity-of-close-2-3-gear-spacing-and-the-ford-8f35-8-speed-automatic-in-bs.3949/

About 120 miles sold as new. Just got the car back today with the safety issues fixed. They reprogrammed the transmission so hopefully that will help, but after 40 days in the shop, they didn't fix the start/stop which leads me to believe there will be other "programming" related issues. Didn't fix the seat cushions, or many of the other minor issues that all add up to a cheap car that has a sticker price of $46,900. No, I didn't pay that, but still, very insulting!

And such a shame, because as other disgruntled forum posters have mentioned, what else is there? Wait 2 more years and pay $20K more for a 4Runner, or pay the same for a well used one? I rented a Rav 4, and granted it was a base trim model, but it wasn't all that great, and far less capable. Much prefer the Bronco Sport. But if I were to keep it, I'd say an extended warranty with a good rental car coverage is mandatory.

 Just that first one is shocking. I don't have any measurable oil consumption in 5,000 miles.

Did the dealer explain what those 120 miles were? When I bought my Bronco it had like 7 or 8 miles on it. It sounds like someone in the dealership might have taken your vehicle out joyriding a bit a really f*d it up. A friend of mine bought a dealer show vehicle, a really nice F-150 with 2,000 miles on it at a substantially discounted price but regretted every second of owning it. If you don't treat the engine right during the break-in period, you'll have issues for the life of the car.
