I had this same debate. Here are my two cents!

Bronco
Pro - cool, customizable, capable of whatever off-road you want, generally available (lots of them on dealer lots)
Con - cost, capacity is limited (your gear), fuel economy

Ranger Raptor
Pro - cool x2, size is manageable, 400 HP, room for 4 plus lots of gear in the bed, capable of whatever off-road you want.
Con - cost (but less than Bronco) and availably (dealer premiums), fuel economy

Bronco Sport Badlands (Sasquatch)
Pro - cool too! Cost is the least if these 3; just as capable as ground clearance will allow, available (get a better deal), best fuel economy of these
Con - size is great for 2 with gear, but limited otherwise; ground clearance

I ordered and bought the last one, but I also ordered a Ranger Raptor (delivery TBD...!)

That's why i went with the 2025 AWD 2.0 EB Maverick after having a BS BB and missing a Truck Bed since i had a bunch of F-150's before the BS BB. I hauled 30 1.5 Cubic Feet Mulch bags in the Maverick a couple weeks ago.The mulch didn't squat the Rear End down as much as i thought and my Maverick Has a Payload of 1,491 lb.s which is pretty good IMO some loaded F-150 Super Crew cabs have less Payload than My Maverick Does.

I've had my Badlands for over 4 years, I would choose the Ranger or a Maverick, to me they are just more useful than the Sport. Either can carry or tow more if needed and it's also nice to just be able to throw whatever into the bed.
I feel ya! I'm not sure ? I just saw a 2024 Maverick Tremor left over at my local Ford dealer, brand new... not sure what to do, my 2023 BS BL is paid off...

I parked my Maverick Next to my Friends 2015 Toyota Tacoma Crew Cab at work and the Maverick was pretty close to the same length as the Tacoma.
How do you like the Maverick?

See the Other Thread where you asked the same question. Looking at Purchasing a 2024 or 2025 Badlands.

Switched to a '23 Maverick XLT a year and a half ago. No regrets. Tows like a champ.

What do you think about the 2024 maverick with the tremor package, now that the 2025 redesign is on sale?! I'm not sure if I should go for the 2024 or not...

Hi All,

I have decided to buy a second vehicle, something more for me than the family. I want something that I can go off-road with. I’m not going to be doing any extreme off-roading, I just want to be able to take off into the woods, explore logging roads, etc. I really like the look of the Bronco and love the modular approach to the vehicles and how customizable they are. But I had real trouble finding the vehicle I wanted, at the price I wanted. So I have become frustrated and have given up on a Bronco and need to move to plan B... a Ford Ranger. A Ranger would give me the same frame and engine as the Bronco and I could get a Ranger with the FX4 Off-Road Package and save 10K over the price of a similar Bronco.

Or maybe I should go for the Bronco Sport? It would probably do everything I need and be more car like. But I'm unsure how the Bronco Sport really is for off-road. And the Ranger and Bronco Sport I am having trouble comparing them. I have driven both and they are very different. I currently drive an Escape (my second). So a Sport would be plenty familiar. I'm just not sure if that is good, bad or neutral.

If I sound indecisive, its because I am. The Bronco, Bronco Sport and Ranger all have pros and cons and I keep changing my mind. I am really uncertain which route to go and would really appreciate any advice people who have a Bronco Sport could offer.

Thanks
Hi Bill, well the Ranger would allow you to haul more and bigger stuff if you ever need to, I love the Big Bronco , I have the Sport but as my son says, the Bronco is not much bigger on the inside than the sport, the seats are bigger and more plush but it's not much roomier. I have the Outerbanks and I take it up to the Mountains and we have gotten pretty good snow and we're really impressed by the way it handles in the snow and the streets are frozen. You can feel the change when you turn the GOAT mode to snow. Everyone is amazed. Unless you want to be able to haul stuff in the back of the ranger, the sport is a pretty good buy and you can also find a pre owned with low miles a lot more affordable now. Also I love the Sport mode on the GOAT for more pep, I use it when I'm going on the freeway or road trip, and the heated steering wheel and the seats! The gas mileage is great!

I have a 2025 Ranger Lariat FX4 with the 2.7 and somewhere during the purchase process of the Ranger we started looking at Bronco Sports, and now we have a Bronco Sport Outer Banks to park next to my Ranger.

I really like both, but I wouldn't consider the BS a real off-road vehicle. Sure, I don't have the most Butch of the Bronco Sports, and there are videos of folks doing some hardcore stuff with Bronco Sports, but I'd never do that to a vehicle that I want to live with. The Ranger has much more ground clearance without having to throw money at lifting it then more money at all of the suspension components to make it right. The Bronco Sport is a great family vehicle. The Ranger is a great utility vehicle in the true sense of the words. I haul 6,000lb trailers with it. I carried a half pallet of dirt (1,200lbs) in the bed because pallets fit between the wheel wells. My wife took it last weekend for flowers and other pretty crap for the house. My daughter took it to move out of her apartment. And I enjoy the heck out of driving it just to get from point A to point B. And embarrass tacos too; that's always fun.

I really like the Bronco and have deep respect for the sibling DNA with the Ranger. But for me and my family, the fuel efficient Bronco Sport meets our needs and the Ranger does all the dirty (and fun) work we could ask of it.

The 2.7 Eco Boost should run pretty strong in the Ranger how Do you like it? I had the 2.7 Eco Boost in the 2015 F-150 4X4 Super Cab I had with the 3.55 Gears in it that Truck ran a 14.53@92 or 93 MPH in the 1/4 mile and was Bone Stock no mods very under rated engine IMO.

You have the 2.0 EB correct if so how do you like it compared to the 1.5 EB you had in the BS OB?

I like the 2.7, it's basically a little diesel bottom end that runs on gas. From what I've gathered they're basically bulletproof.

A lot more power for towing. Sport tranny got a little warm towing up hills even with the towing package. Mav stays cool all the time.
