Hello, I have the Kuat NV 2.0 and it’s amazing.

The thing I like the most about it is that you can lower its incline angle (second pic) and the back door will open just fine.

Thanks for the pic.. question .. will the back door still open with 2 bikes on the NV 2.0 bike rack? (Or the one bike positioned at the location closest to the rear door)

I have the Kuat Original bike rack version and with both bikes mounted I can still open the rear door.

I like the features of the later Kuat bike racks so planning to update soon.

Good question, I had to go and check.

Short answer: It doesn’t open completely.

Longer answer: It’s quite manageable if you want to grab something on the fly, on either shelf.

I had a pillow all the way in the back, and it was easy enough to grab.

Now, If you are hoping to get the back door fully open, this is not the rack for you.

For size reference, I have a 29er in small (Specialized - EpicWC).

My Thule Easyfold also hinges forward and the hatch opens fully with one or two bikes loaded.

Thanks for checking! I got the Kuat rack in 2016 so it lacks features like the foot pedal release and a few other features I think is on yours that’s not on my original Kuat rack

I haul around two specialized bikes - one is a Large Specialized 29” mountain bike and the other a Large Specialized Turbo Tero 5.0 Ebike (about 50 lbs just for the Ebike)

Would really like to have the foot pedal release for convenience.

Apparently I don’t have a pic of the Kuat with both bikes mounted so now I’d better go double check that the rear hatch does open.

(I have a pic of the Subaru forester which has the similar opening rear hatch and that pic shows the rear hatch opens with both bikes when the Kuat rack is placed in the “down” position)

Pic of the bikes for reference…

I have a 2024 Bronco Sport Outer Banks and just joined the forum. I would like any recommendations that others could make for a good, reasonably priced bike rack for my Bronco Sport.
Well, congrats on your Bronco! You are in the right place!

I have the Yakama inside version and a 1up SuperDuty outside one. Depends on what you are hauling. For most cases, I prefer the home made inside version. It stores in the spare tire area and sets up fast. I do have to lower the seats though. Unfortunately the e-bikes don’t fit inside.

Mine came with a 2", maybe Outer Banks has it? Anyway, I use the One-Up single bike rack. Got my BS 4 days ago and the rack is so much more handy than it was on my last F-150. So far I'm a VERY happy owner. Besides, all of this for under $40k?

Since this thread has come back to life: I use a Thule Epos 2 with Lights in the 2" on the Badlands. In no way reasonably priced, but works really well and is legal to avoid any imperial Mountie entanglements regarding number plates.

Here it is in trunk access mode with an eMTB and a lightweight MTB.

Last week we transported a Rad Runner 2 (a 30kg lump) with my Levo (20kg), no bother.

Also available without lights and plate holder for a few dollars less.
