To much electronic crap on these newer vehicles and it sucks IMO you have to use a charger to keep the battery charged if you don't drive them often. I keep My Mustang in the garage that has a 466 BBF engine and just started it December 17th the last time I had it started was November 4th .I have a quick disconnect on the Positive Battery Cable and It's been real cold here In late November and early December and it cranked over and started fine on Dec 17th with no charger on it in between November 4th and December 17th..

I agree that there is way too much drain on the battery for silly things like keeping the headlights on after you shut off the vehicle.

Your BS has a Battery Management System (BMS) that tells it how much charging the alternator needs to do. My understanding is that you need to connect the charger before the shunt that connects to the battery terminal so the computer knows the state of the battery.

Nice!

Those are some huge/tall valve covers. I'm used to Chevy big blocks.

It's not surprising that it started easily. Batteries do self-discharge when disconnected, but it's a low rate, especially when cold. From Google:

"At 30°F (-1°C), a 12V lead-acid battery's self-discharge rate is significantly lower than at room temperature (e.g., 68°F), slowing to roughly 1-2% per month, but its usable capacity also drops, potentially losing 20-30% of its power in the cold, so while it self-discharges slowly, it also performs poorly, requiring charging if stored long-term to prevent sulfation."

So if the battery has more than enough CCA, it could sit for quite a while and still start the engine.

I actually started a Thread on here about the Headlights when I had My 2023 BS BB[Maverick Owner Now].
