My battery exploded pulling out of a parking lot. AAA said something must have caused it to overheat, like the alternator. The dealer said just a bad battery but they had to clean off battery acid from inside the engine compartment and reset all the electronics. Under warranty fortunately. Anyone else have this problem?

What year BS?
Threads like these make me want to change my battery to the Ford AGM battery. Too many regular lead acid battery issues and this one is the worst one yet.

That sucks, assuming it's true. I'll be monitoring my battery, since it's a standard lead-acid one.

I've taken to leaving my fob inside when doing stuff near the vehicle, because it annoys me how it's just constantly reacting anytime the fob gets near it (doors unlocking, interior screens turning on, beep, bop, etc..). It can't be great for the battery that the electronics are constantly turning on and off.

The actual reason I replied: "Anyone else have this problem" made me laugh for some reason. Something blew up under the hood of my car -- anyone else also experiencing acid explosions?

Don't know why people would assume that it isn't true. Here is the service sheet from the Ford dealer.

No way I'd want battery acid all over the engine compartment even if cleaned, How long before corrosion sets in?

AGM is required for 90% of modern vehicles including the bronco sport. No need to change to an AGM as it already has one. Unless you wanted to switch to a different manufacturer, as the ford AGM seem to have a high failure rate.

If you've read most of these battery threads, you'll notice that most of us do not have an AGM battery, but more like an Enhanced Flooded Battery (including me). Cheers!

Been watching this battery debacle for about two years , and two things 1 it seems to be related to the 3 cylinder model versus the 4 cylinder. 2 if your dash starts to throwing codes go get your battery changed because that definitely is a sign . I have a 21 first edition that was built in December of 2020 and it has an acid battery, no issues as of today, coming up on month 32 .

Unfortunately several bs were equipped with lead acid rather than agm, mine included, I suspect something to do with shortages, though I have no proof
