The rubber flooring and carpeted floor mats were standard equipment in 2021 on the Badlands.
Not sure for if it has changed for 2022.
Same for '22. The rubber floor mats can be ordered in addition to, or in place of, the carpet mats. The rubber mats are the way to go. They look good and are very functional and easy to maintain. Overall the Bronco Sport interior does not feel cheap at all, but more functional and a bit rugged. The badlands seats add more, especially the all-leather ones with the Premium Package.

We have both a '21 and a '22 Badlands here. They're mostly identical except for a few interior things. The '22 gains the HomeLink garage door opener and USB ports in the 2nd row. Those USB's were actually a mid-cycle addition in '21 so some '21s have them.

Due to parts/chip shortages for the '22 production, the Start/Stop button is now solid with no light and looks kinda cheap. The gear selector dial is the same as Ford uses in most of their lower trims across their vehicle line up, not the fancy one that was in the '21 Badlands, or higher end trims on the Expedition, Explorer and such... Other than that it's all pretty much the same. Don't really care about those differences... Some might, but they have no impact on functionality.

I'm pleasantly surprised that the wireless charging pad now properly charges the iPhone 12 and 13 models with MagSafe that don't charge properly in our '21 (or my F-350 or Expedition). It's actually the same part number(s) for the wireless charging pad hardware as far as I can tell. I'm guessing it's a software/firmware update fix and I'll see if I can get this addressed on our '21 and my other vehicles.

This is a pretty nice comparison between those 2 models. I was wondering this myself. I was happy to see that the start stop "had" a light, and was hoping the 22 models would have them as well, but I can live without this and not a deal breaker. Is the gear selector different in the 22 model vs the 21 model? I was under the impression they were still the same. So not sure what quality differences we are looking at on that one.

That pic with the back seat, that middle section with the Bronco badging, was that standard? Seems like it is laying on top there with the mats.
The rear mats are two pieces. The piece on the right is just for the right rear footwell. The piece on the left fills the left rear footwell then goes up and over the center hump.

Ahh gotcha. I thought that was an additional 3rd piece or something. Thanks for that!

Personally, the newer "rubberized" flooring looks good (yes, the earlier F150 floor looked a bit...unfinished). The rear overlap mat is the same as the Corsair...

Here is mine with the Ford rubber mats. Not much of the rubber floor is visible.

Are these the “Standard unique floor mats with logo" that Ford's website says comes with the badlands trim, or the $200 option?

This is the upgrade option. The standard floor mats are carpet on top.

Thanks. Does anyone have weather tech mats to compare?

*** EDIT *** The gear selectors are the same. My brain was confusing between the one in our Expedition we recently sold. ***

The gear selector is different. Still a dial and still works mostly the same, but the one in the '21 looks nicer or more premium. The gear indicator on the dial in the '21 is dynamic. Whereas the '22 is just an infinite turning dial with labels. I can post a comparison later when both are here and I can take pics. That will be much easier than trying to explain the differences.

So, time to raid the Ford corporate parts bin? I'm guessing that the underlying connections are the same, so one could swap out Lincoln/ high end Ford components... Time to start researching.

Ya from my understanding still rubber as standard. But I also ordered the Rubber Floor Liners. Not sure if I still get the carpet ones along with the liners.
My 21 Badlands was ordered with option 50B Floor Liners Front and Rear with Carpet Mats. I got four floor liners and four carpet mats (which I will never use). I didn’t use the carpet mats in my previous two Escapes.

I don't know what the '22 configuration options are if you have to pick one or the other or what. Can always get stuff aftermarket. Personally, I am glad mine came with full sets of official mats. $200 option over the $160 option of 1 set. If I ever decided to upgrade, I would get a TuxMat. I don't like Weathertech stuff. With the rubber floor, there isn't really a need to upgrade the coverage. It all cleans up with cleaner and a rag.

I wasn’t aware of the gear selector change. Never had it so I guess it won’t bother me. It’s all about reducing the electronics right now, so probably better off anyways but…..

My understanding is that the rubber mats come in two flavors, one for the rubberized floor and one for the carpeted floor. We got the former for my wife's Badlands.

Here's something we learned while calling local dealers to see if they had them in stock: One dealer told me that there was ONE set available in our area but it was at a different dealer. He gave me the name of the dealer and we called them and reserved them, picking them up that afternoon. To 'thank' the first dealer, we took our BL there for its first service.
