Is there a way to remove the white lines for the backup camera.

We have a 2021 Badlands and I find that the quality of the back up camera display is dismal. Compared to the camera in my 2021 Ram it's like watching your TV in low def compared to 4K. The display is very washed out and appears to be like an overexposed picture. I went to my dealer and they tell me that there is nothing wrong. Are Ford cameras really this poor. Anyone else having this issue.
I have a Ram 1500 also. I get what you’re saying. The reverse camera on the Bronco Sport is garbage.

I just had a rental Nissan Altima this week and despite being a 2022 it had one of the worst backup cameras I've ever seen. Low quality and a noticeably low framerate compared to the BS backup camera.

*bump* I just got my BS OB two weeks ago and was surprised at how bad the camera is. It looks like they camera on my dad's 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

My BS replaced my beloved 2019 ford ranger lariat (I had to) so i can compare ford to ford from recent years and tell you the camera on the ranger was FAAAAR better. The camera on the ranger was higher resolution and provided enhanced picture at night (a limited form of night vision).

There really is no excuse for a vehicle 3 years newer to have this camera. My guess is they had supply issues, however, i feel like ford needs to do something about it. It's blatantly bad.

I agree with the OP. it just seems like it is over exposed and lack of contrast. there may be a software fix? possible supply issues and took whatever they could get, that was cheap.

I see there are ways to upgrade a factory backup camera; but I'm not sure it would still have the tracking guide properly calibrated.

I have to say i'm spoiled by these cameras. good quality image or not, it really makes backing up easier including parallel parking.

I rent a SUV for 2 weeks every year, they all have backup cameras and the one on my Bronco is at least as good as any of the others I've rented and better than most.

The cams are only 480 res at max. They use a poor sensor in the units they use. Same with the video panels. And that’s pretty much all manufacturers. I’ve installed car audio/video for over 20 years and the panels we were using in 2000 are the same resolution as ones that are used today in most vehicles. They’re some outliers, but same stuff. You guys think the rear cam is bad, the front is super potato cam.
I can tell it’s the trail in front if me but that’s about it. Any grade, rocks, debris all get muddled together. And makes it all look flat. Even moguls have no definition. The cam should’ve been placed into the front bumper so you don’t see your bumper in front of the terrain. Seems like it was an afterthought to add it.

I guess it's all perspective. I had a 2010 infiniti g37 before my BS and I find the camera to be great. Has never let me down when parallel parking.

I noticed it this morning....could it be the license plate lights reflecting lights off the lens especially the lens is a little dirty? those two lights are RIGHT below the rear camera. Normally, if i was the designer/engineer for something that has a camera for sight or sensing....I'd shield it from direct light sources like the lights on both sides of the license plate. Another word....maybe a louver on those lights will help with the clarity....I'm half joking.....but looking straight at bright light..you are not going to be seeing very clear.

not a big deal but small things that may be can be improve with small adjustment

I currently have a '19 Edge and a '20 Ecosport and both those cameras are fine. Just a suggestion to you folks. If you replace your back up light bulbs with decent LEDS, your night visibility will be much better backing up.

I have a 2022 BS BL and I’m pretty happy with my backup camera. My last vehicle was a 2015 Chevy Traverse LTZ (deluxe edition). My BS BL’s camera is light years better!

I agree. I think the backup camera is horrible. It always looks dirty or something. If I wipe it that fixes it only temporarily. If it rains it fogs up and you can see the water droplets. But they made a big deal about the washer spray but that helps only minimally. Meanwhile my wife's Subaru Crosstek's camera is always clear and bright with no washer.

If you put a good coat of RainX on the camera lens the washer is a lot more effective. A quick spritz takes all the gunk off, and RainX prevents the water from beading on the lens.

Since I am old & never had a vehicle with a backup camera I always use the mirrors. The only thing I feel the backup camera would be good for like stated above for Parelle parking or when backing up to hook up a trailer. My wife loves the backup camera even though I taught her how to back up using the mirrors.
