Hey all
I had the recall on the auto start stop function done the dealer claims the battery was replaced but it’s happening again now a month later
I find when the vehicle is off and cools down it’s ok but not when it’s hot out

any other ideas that would cuz my 2021 badlands bronco sport to do this and anyone know where the location of this battery is so I can see if they actually replaced it

I have a 2021 Badlands, I had the original software update for the body control module and powertrain control module performed, I have not had any issues because of it.
Supposedly there is a problem with the original update and now there is new software update.
I have the recall showing in my Ford Pass app.

When I go in for my next oil change I'll have the latest software update performed, or maybe I wont if that's the version you have, lol.

There is not a separate battery for the auto start stop, there is only one battery.

From the owners manual:

There is only one battery and it's under the hood. Make sure you have an AGM model.

When it's hot, the system may keep the engine on to run the A/C.

You should be able to bring up on the dashboard the Auto Start/Stop screen which will tell you the current status when you are sitting at a light. While you are moving the message should say something like "Engine on Operating Normally. When you are stopped the message should give you an indication why the Auto Start/Stop did not engage.

After my Badlands battery was replaced, auto start stop is basically transparent, I have to look at the tach to see if it actually shut off.
Early on when I was test driving Sports, auto start stop on the 1.5 models was clunky and seemed like a gimmick, I could see how people wouldn't like it

I always turn off the ASS when I start the car, but on occasion I sometimes forget. I notice it when the A/C starts blowing air that is not as cold as normal because the engine is no longer running.
